Neurotrophin‐3 receptors in the developing chicken retina [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Biochemistry, 1993
Neurotrophin 3 (NT‐3) had specific high‐affinity receptors (HNT‐3R) in the developing chick retina at all ages between embryonic day (E) 4 and E14. The affinity of HNT‐3R for 125I‐NT‐3 did not change with the developmental state. A dissociation constant (kd) of 13 pM was obtained.

Serum neurotrophin-3 and neurotrophin-4 levels are associated with asthma severity in children [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Respiratory Journal, 2012
To the Editors: Asthma is the most common chronic disease in childhood and is characterised by chronic airway inflammation, reversible airflow obstruction and hyperresponsiveness of the airways. Among the substantial pathophysiological aspects of asthma are neuroimmune interaction mechanisms; neurotrophins are mediators of the interactions providing ...

Polycistronic Delivery of IL-10 and NT-3 Promotes Oligodendrocyte Myelination and Functional Recovery in a Mouse Spinal Cord Injury Model. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
One million estimated cases of spinal cord injury (SCI) have been reported in the United States and repairing an injury has constituted a difficult clinical challenge.

Production and characterization of recombinant mouse neurotrophin‐3 [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Biochemistry, 1992
Neurotrophin‐3 (NT‐3) is a neurotrophic factor that has recently been cloned on the basis of its structural similarity to other members of the nerve growth factor (NGF) gene family. In order to produce this protein, a recombinant vaccinia virus containing the coding region for mouse NT‐3 was constructed. Conditioned medium harvested from cells infected

Crystallization and preliminary structural studies of neurotrophin‐3 [PDF]

open access: yesProtein Science, 1994
AbstractNeurotrophin‐3 (NT‐3) has been crystallized in 2 forms. Orthorhombic crystals, space group P21212, diffracted to 2.8 Å and have cell dimensions a = 39.1 Å, b = 54.0 Å, and c = 65.5 Å. The second form is space group P43212, with cell dimensions a = b = 67.1 Å, and c = 107.9 Å. The tetragonal crystals diffract to 2.8 Å at room temperature and 2.5

The Neurotrophin Receptor p75 Binds Neurotrophin-3 on Sympathetic Neurons with High Affinity and Specificity [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Neuroscience, 1997
High-affinity neurotrophin-3 (NT3) receptors have been identified on nerve growth factor (NGF)-dependent sympathetic neurons, but their occupancy by NT3 does not lead to neuronal survival. The molecular nature of these NT3 binding sites was investigated in this study.

A novel inhibitor of p75-neurotrophin receptor improves functional outcomes in two models of traumatic brain injury. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The p75 neurotrophin receptor is important in multiple physiological actions including neuronal survival and neurite outgrowth during development, and after central nervous system injury.

Endogenous neurotrophin-3 promotes neuronal sprouting from dorsal root ganglia

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research, 2015
In the present study, we investigated the role of endogenous neurotrophin-3 in nerve terminal sprouting 2 months after spinal cord dorsal root rhizotomy.
