Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Comprehensive and Open Assessment of Thermospheric Models During Geomagnetic Storm Times Within CCMC Framework

open access: yesSpace Weather
Thermospheric neutral density controls satellite drag in low Earth orbit and varies strongly during geomagnetic storms. We present a multi‐mission, phase‐resolved assessment of empirical and physics‐based thermosphere models using 151 storms from 2001 to

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Evaluation of TIEGCM based on GOCE neutral density

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
The Thermosphere Ionosphere Electrodynamic General Circulation Model (TIEGCM), as one of the most advanced physical models of the Earth’s thermosphere and ionosphere, is not only widely used in scientific research, but also has essential reference value ...

A Model for Neutral Defect Limited Electron Mobility in Strained-Silicon Inversion Layers

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2017
On the strained silicon metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs), we show how to derive a formalism dealing with the scattering of a 2-D electron by a neutral defect.

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Nightside Neutral Density Disturbances Collocated With Equatorial Plasma Irregularities Above 450 km: GRACE and GRACE‐FO Observations in 2002–2022

open access: yesSpace Weather
We investigate the climatology of Neutral Density Disturbances (NDDs) collocated with Equatorial Plasma Irregularities (EPIs) at altitudes above 450 km by using 20 years of data from the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) and GRACE‐FO ...

The potential of tracing the star formation history with HI 21-cm in intervening absorption systems

open access: yes, 2017
Unlike the neutral gas density, which remains largely constant over redshifts of 0 < z < 5, the star formation density exhibits a strong redshift dependence, increasing from the present day before peaking at a redshift of z ~ 2.5.
