Seawater neutralization of alkaline bauxite residue and implications for revegetation
Reaction of bauxite residue with seawater results in neutralization of alkalinity through precipitation of Mg-, Ca-, and Al-hydroxide and carbonate minerals. In batch studies, the initial pH neutralization reaction was rapid

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Isotope effect of the mutual neutralization reaction at low collision energies: He^+ + H^−
We measured the branching ratio of the He^+ + H^− and He^+ + D^− mutual neutralization at a collision energy below 25 meV. Those are correctly reproduced using the Landau-Zener model applied to potential energy curves computed by an anion-centered ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

TOXIN-ANTITOXIN REACTION WITHOUT NEUTRALIZATION [PDF]
1. Collodion particles adsorb diphtheria or tetanus or botulinus toxins. These toxins are retained on the particles when washed but are at least in part released in the animal. 2. The adsorbed toxins are neutralized by adsorption of the corresponding antitoxins but are unaffected by other serums. 3.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Diisopropylammonium 4-aminobenzenesulfonate
The title molecular salt, C6H16N+·C6H6NO3S−, was synthesized from a neutralization reaction between sulfanilic acid and diisopropylamine. The crystal structure consists of diisopropylammonium cations and 4-aminobenzenesulfonate (sulfanilate) anions ...
