Panniculitis is an inflammatory disorder of the subcutaneous fat, whose diagnosis and classification relies on histologic features, mainly the location of the subcutaneous inflammatory infiltrate (septal, lobular, mixed or vascular) [1]. In the setting of lobular panniculitis in which the inflammation predominantly involves the fat lobules, there is ...

Neutrophil chemotactic activity of rabbit neutrophils
Archives of Oral Biology, 1974Abstract Neutrophils regularly migrate into crevices of both healthy and inflamed gingiva. In the presence of inflamed gingiva, dental plaque supplies substances with a chemotactic effect on neutrophils. but the substances responsible for the attraction of neutrophils to crevices of healthy gingiva have not been identified.

Elevated neutrophil function in chronic neutrophilic leukemia
American Journal of Hematology, 1992AbstractA 65‐year‐old man with marked leukocytosis was admitted for diagnosis and treatment. His peripheral blood leukocyte count was 37,500/μI and the leukocytes consisted of mature neutrophil‐like cells. A high neutrophil alkaline phosphatase score and a normal bone marrow cell karyotype suggested that the patient had chronic neutrophilic leukemia ...

Neutrophil Actin Dysfunction and Abnormal Neutrophil Behavior
New England Journal of Medicine, 1974Abstract An infant had recurrent bacterial infections but failed to produce pus. His neutrophils migrated slowly and ingested particles at 15 per cent of the rate of normal. The secretion of granule contents into phagosomes was 2.5 times greater than the control when corrected for the impaired ingestion. Because of the neutrophil abnormalities the role

Neutrophilic dermatosis associated with chronic neutrophilic leukemia
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 1993Chronic neutrophilic leukemia is an uncommon myeloproliferative disorder. We report a new case that fulfills the clinical and biologic criteria for such a diagnosis. The hematologic disease was revealed by a neutrophilic dermatosis that finally disappeared spontaneously after a duration of 1 year.

Neutrophil extracellular traps and neutrophilic asthma
Respiratory MedicineThere are more than 260 million asthma patients worldwide. How to provide targeted long-term standardized treatment and management still confuses clinical workers and patients. Neutrophilic asthma is a special type of asthma which is difficult to diagnose clinically and often associated with severe asthma and glucocorticoid resistance.

Neutrophils form the major type of leukocytes in peripheral blood, with counts ranging from 40 to 70% of the leukocytes under normal conditions. Neutrophilic granulocytes protect the human body against bacterial and fungal infections. For this purpose, neutrophils are equipped with a machinery to sense the site of an infection, to crawl toward the ...
