Gauge/Gravity Duality: Recovering the Bulk from the Boundary using AdS/CFT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Motivated by the holographic principle, within the context of the AdS/CFT Correspondence in the large t'Hooft limit, we investigate how the geometry of certain highly symmetric bulk spacetimes can be recovered given information of physical quantities in ...

Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

A simplified model of Heavy Vector Singlets for the LHC and future colliders

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study a simplified model of two colourless heavy vector resonances in the singlet representation of SU(2) L , with zero and unit hypercharge. We discuss mixing with the Standard Model gauge bosons due to electroweak symmetry breaking, semi-analytic ...

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Birdtracks of exotic SU(N) color structures

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
I introduce a systematic procedure for constructing complete and linearly independent sets of color structures for interactions of fields transforming under exotic representations of SU(N), in particular the SU(3) gauge group of QCD.

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Gauge theories of the strong, weak, and electromagnetic interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This completely revised and updated graduate-level textbook is an ideal introduction to gauge theories and their applications to high-energy particle physics, and takes an in-depth look at two new laws of nature--quantum chromodynamics and the ...

Improving the performance of weak supervision searches using data augmentation

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Weak supervision combines the advantages of training on real data with the ability to exploit signal properties. However, training a neural network using weak supervision often requires an excessive amount of signal data, which severely limits its ...

AscF in the mycobacterial CIII–CIV supercomplex lacks metal and nucleotide binding but links malate oxidation to respiration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...

A new analytic approach to physical observables in QCD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
An analytic ghost-free model for the QCD running coupling a(Q(^2)) is proposed. It is constructed from a more general approach we developed particularly for investigating physical observables of the type F(Q(^2)) in regions that are inaccessible to ...
