Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Standard Model couplings and collider signatures of a light scalar
The electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) sector of the Standard Model can be far richer and more interesting than the usual single scalar doublet model. We explore scenarios where the EWSB sector is nearly scale invariant and consequently gives rise to a

Portal Connecting Dark Photons and Axions [PDF]
The dark photon and the axion (or axion-like particle) are popular light particles of the hidden sector. Each of them has been actively searched for through the couplings called the vector portal and the axion portal. We introduce a new portal connecting

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Searching for a new light gauge boson with axial couplings in muon beam dump experiments
We present a formalism for new U(1) interactions involving weak hypercharge, baryon, and lepton numbers, and a possible axial symmetry generator F A in the presence of a second Brout-Englert-Higgs doublet.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

New Light Particle Searches with PADME
The PADME experiment at Laboratori Nationali di Frascati is designed to study possible dark matter explanations relying on the presence of a light particle that acts as a mediator between the visible and the hidden sectors. Three data-taking runs have resulted in the collection of more than \(10^{13}\) positrons-on-target.

An effective up quark mass from new light particles
Abstract I consider a model where an effective current mass for the up quark is provided by the interactions of a new neutral light colored scalar and a charge 1 3 colorless fermion. The model has no strong CP problem. A new confining U (1) prevents the occurence of physical states with fractional charges.

Black hole superradiance as a probe of ultra-light new particles [PDF]
AbstractBosonic fields around a spinning black hole can be amplified via ‘superradiance’, a wave analogue of the Penrose process, which extracts energy and momentum from the black hole. For hypothetical ultra-light bosons, with Compton wavelengths on ≳ km scales, such a process can lead to the exponential growth of gravitationally bound states around ...
