Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Probing light neutralinos from pair-produced sleptons with displaced vertices at the high-luminosity LHC

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study light neutralinos χ ~ 1 0 $$ \left({\overset{\sim }{\chi}}_1^0\right) $$ with masses ranging from 10 GeV to several hundred GeV within the framework of R-parity-violating (RPV) supersymmetry.

Surface plasmon resonances of clustered nanoparticles

open access: yes, 2011
Linear clusters made by tightly connecting two or more metallic nanoparticles have new types of surface plasmon resonances as compared to isolated nanoparticles.

Quantum Disentangled Liquids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We propose and explore a new finite temperature phase of translationally invariant multi-component liquids which we call a "Quantum Disentangled Liquid" (QDL) phase.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Searching for string bosenovas with gravitational wave detectors

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study the phenomenology of a string bosenova explosion in vector superradiance clouds around spinning black holes, focusing on the observable consequences in gravitational wave detectors and accelerometers.

The axion-photon mixing in non-linear electrodynamic scenarios

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
In this contribution, we re-assess some aspects of axionic electrodynamics by coupling non-linear electromagnetic effects to axion physics. We present a number of motivations to justify the coupling of the axion to the photon in terms of a general non ...

Anomaly induced effects in a magnetic field

open access: yes, 2007
We consider a modification of electrodynamics by an additional light massive vector field, interacting with the photon via Chern-Simons-like coupling.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
