Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

Role of IKK/NF-κB signaling in extinction of conditioned place aversion memory in rats. [PDF]
The inhibitor κB protein kinase/nuclear factor κB (IKK/NF-κB) signaling pathway is critical for synaptic plasticity. However, the role of IKK/NF-κB in drug withdrawal-associated conditioned place aversion (CPA) memory is unknown.

Sclerostin inhibition alleviates breast cancer-induced bone metastases and muscle weakness [PDF]
Breast cancer bone metastases often cause a debilitating non-curable condition with osteolytic lesions, muscle weakness and a high mortality. Current treatment comprises chemotherapy, irradiation, surgery and anti-resorptive drugs that restrict but do ...

A parapoxviral virion protein inhibits NF-κB signaling early in infection.
Poxviruses have evolved unique proteins and mechanisms to counteract the nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway, which is an essential regulatory pathway of host innate immune responses.

SMAD4 loss enables EGF, TGF\u3b21 and S100A8/A9 induced activation of critical pathways to invasion in human pancreatic adenocarcinoma cells [PDF]
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) receptor overexpression, KRAS, TP53, CDKN2A and SMAD4 mutations characterize pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. This mutational landscape might influence cancer cells response to EGF, Transforming Growth Factor \u3b21 (TGF ...

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.
