P3.269 Association ofNeisseria GonorrhoeaeNG-MAST Strain Types and Specific Mutation Pattern Combinations inpenA, mtrRandporB [PDF]

open access: yesSexually Transmitted Infections, 2013
Background Antimicrobial resistance to third generation cephalosporins, penicillin and tetracycline in Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates can be associated with particular strain types (STs) as well as specific mutation patterns in penA, mtrR or porB .

Sustained Transmission of Neisseria gonorrhoeae Strains with High-Level Azithromycin Resistance (MIC ≥ 256 μg/mL) in Argentina, 2018 to 2022

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2023
Azithromycin combined with ceftriaxone is the recommended dual therapy for uncomplicated gonorrhea in many countries. Nevertheless, the increasing prevalence of azithromycin resistance compromises the effectiveness of this treatment strategy.

P645 Peruvian gonococcal strains reveal novel NG-MAST types and false-positive β-lactamase isolates withblatemgene mutations [PDF]

open access: yesPoster Presentations, 2019
Background The Global Emerging Infectious Surveillance Program of the U.S. Department of Defense, Armed Forces Health Surveillance Branch supports a repository for Neisseria gonorrhoeae (GC) clinical isolates recovered from routine care at U.S. Military Treatment Facilities in the continental US (CONUS) and at several overseas (OCONUS) labs though ...

Antimicrobial resistance and molecular epidemiological typing of Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates from Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia, 2012 and 2017

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases, 2021
Background Gonorrhoea and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Neisseria gonorrhoeae are significant public health concerns globally. Nearly no gonococcal AMR data are available from Central Asia, and no data from Kyrgyzstan has been published. We examined,

Infliximab Inhibits Colitis Associated Cancer in Model Mice by Downregulating Genes Associated with Mast Cells and Decreasing Their Accumulation

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Molecular Biology, 2023
Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), such as Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, can be treated with anti TNF-alpha (TNF-α) antibodies (Abs), but they also put patients with IBDs at risk of cancer.

Dissemination of Neisseria gonorrhoeae with decreased susceptibility to extended-spectrum cephalosporins in Southern China, 2021: a genome-wide surveillance from 20 cities

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobials, 2023
Background Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) of untreatable gonococcal infection is an emerging threat, especially in Guangdong, a prosperous province in Southern China.

Russian gonococcal antimicrobial susceptibility programme (RU-GASP) – resistance in Neisseria gonorrhoeae during 2009–2012 and NG-MAST genotypes in 2011 and 2012

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases, 2014
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Neisseria gonorrhoeae is a major concern worldwide and gonococcal AMR surveillance globally is imperative for public health purposes. In Eastern Europe, gonococcal AMR surveillance is exceedingly rare. However, in 2004 the Russian gonococcal antimicrobial susceptibility programme (RU-GASP) was initiated.

Opa-typing can identify epidemiologically distinct subgroups within Neisseria gonorrhoeae multi-antigen sequence type (NG-MAST) clusters

open access: yesEpidemiology and Infection, 2007
SUMMARYA collection of 106 Neisseria gonorrhoeae ciprofloxacin-resistant isolates were typed using Neisseria gonorrhoeae multi-antigen sequence typing (NG-MAST). Opa-typing was performed on 74 isolates which had non-unique sequence types to determine if further discrimination could be achieved and if so whether this had any epidemiological basis.
