Novel Digital NGD Methodology for FPGA-Based Embedded Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access
Negative Group Delay (NGD) is a concept not widely explored in embedded digital signal processing systems, and this study aims to fill this gap. It presents a novel methodology for implementing NGD using second-order Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter.

Optic Neuritis in the Puerperium Mimicking Severe Preeclampsia: A Neurological Differential Diagnosis in the Obstetric Emergency Setting

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Optic neuritis is an acute inflammatory disease that can cause acute visual loss. We present a case of a 22‐year‐old female in postpartum with acute headache, retroocular pain, and bilateral amaurosis. Orbit MRI revealed inflammatory changes in both neurovascular optical bundles.

Association Between Thyroid Nodules and Thyroid Cancer Risk in Graves’ Disease: A Surgical Cohort from an Iodine-deficient Region

open access: yesHaseki Tıp Bülteni
Aim: The clinical relevance of thyroid nodules in Graves’ disease (GD) remains controversial, particularly in iodine-deficient regions where both nodularity and thyroid cancer are more prevalent.

Influence of Carboxylate Ligand Variation on Structure, Magnetic Exchange, and Magnetocaloric Performance in Hexanuclear Gd(III) Complexes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 21, 1 June 2026.
ABSTRACT Hexanuclear cyclic Gd(III) coordination compounds are promising candidates for magnetic and magnetocaloric applications, yet systematic series remain rare due to synthetic challenges. We report the synthesis and characterization of five new complexes with the general formula [Gd(H3bt)(carboxylate)]6, employing four different carboxylate ...

Critical role of keratinocytes and protease‐activated receptor 2 in secondary lymphedema development

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Activated keratinocytes play an important role in the early stage of the pathophysiology of secondary lymphedema through PAR2 signaling. Lymphatic injury‐induced protease activation stimulates keratinocyte PAR2 signaling, driving hyperkeratosis and Th2 inflammation, which can be therapeutically attenuated by teriflunomide. Abstract Background Secondary

The Clinical and Surgical Landscape of Gender Affirming Vocal Care: A Scoping Review

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 11, Issue 3, June 2026.
Current literature is characterized by small size, lack of randomization, and no comparison groups, features consistent with lower levels of evidence. Future research may address gaps in the literature including underrepresented populations, such as trans men and nonbinary/gender diverse individuals, and investigating the impact of vocal gender ...

Evolution of nonstop, no-go and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay and their termination factor-derived components

open access: yesBMC Evolutionary Biology, 2008
Background Members of the eukaryote/archaea specific eRF1 and eRF3 protein families have central roles in translation termination. They are also central to various mRNA surveillance mechanisms, together with the eRF1 paralogue Dom34p and the eRF3 ...
