Contrasts among origins of corn hybrids in relation to their susceptibility to nicosulfuron and isoxaflutole herbicides
Contrastes entre procedências de híbridos de milho em relação à suscetibilidade aos herbicidas nicosulfuron e isoxaflutole

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2010
Herbicide selectivity is the basis for successfull weed chemical control in agricultural production, as it is considered as a measurement of the difeerential response of different plant species to a certain herbicide.

Tolerância de híbridos de milho ao herbicida nicosulfuron Tolerance of corn hybrids to nicosulfuron

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2008

A 4‐year field study monitoring the evolution of Trp574Leu‐resistant plants in an Echinochloa crus‐galli population under different crop rotation and herbicide programs in maize

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 80, Issue 11, Page 5843-5851, November 2024.
Crop rotation and herbicide application timing are useful tools to manage acetolactate synthase (ALS)‐inhibitors resistant Echinochloa crus‐galli. ALS‐inhibitors, while challenged by resistance, remain valuable tools for managing other grass weed species in maize. So, it is crucial to adapt integrated weed management strategies to different grass weeds

Degradation of nicosulfuron using fenton and fenton-like reactions [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Industry and Chemical Engineering Quarterly, 2018
Nicosulfuron, a sulfonylurea herbicide, was subjected to different Fenton reactions at pH of a nicosulfuron aqueous solution (pH 5). Usually, the optimal pH for the Fenton reaction is between 3 and 4, but the addition of acids is not environmentally acceptable. This is the reason why the reactions were performed at a higher pH value than usual.

Efeito da interação do nicosulfuron e chlorpyrifos sobre o banco de sementes e os atributos microbianos do solo Effect of sequential nicosulfuron and chlorpyrifos application on seed bank and soil microbial characteristics

Challenges in bermudagrass production in the southeastern USA

open access: yesGrassland Research, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 123-131, June 2024.
The bermudagrass stem maggot is one of the most persistent pests in the southeastern USA. The damage is evident by chlorosis of the top two to three leaves of the pseudostem. Fine stem cultivars (left) are more susceptible than coarse stem cultivars (right).

Applying unoccupied aerial systems to assess genetic gain from mass selection for tembotrione tolerance in sorghum (Sorghum bicolor)

open access: yesPlant Breeding, Volume 143, Issue 3, Page 320-333, June 2024.
Abstract The post‐emergent herbicide options to control grasses in sorghum have historically been limited. Therefore, a mass selection program was implemented to increase the tolerance of sorghum to the broad‐spectrum herbicide tembotrione. The objectives of this study are to determine (i) which observation timing and vegetative indices are most ...

First report of severe tolpyralate sensitivity in corn (Zea mays) discovers a novel genetic factor conferring crop response to a herbicide

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 80, Issue 3, Page 1645-1653, March 2024.
Severe corn sensitivity to tolpyralate exists in diverse germplasm and is conferred by a gene (blue arrow) near Nsf1 (bounded by orange arrows). Abstract BACKGROUND Tolpyralate, a relatively new inhibitor of 4‐hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD), is registered for postemergence use in all types of corn (Zea mays L.) and has a record of excellent ...
