Regulation of nitric oxide (NO) production by plant nitrate reductase in vivo and in vitro.
NO (nitric oxide) production from sunflower plants (Helianthus annuus L.), detached spinach leaves (Spinacia oleracea L.), desalted spinach leaf extracts or commercial maize (Zea mays L.) leaf nitrate reductase (NR, EC 1.6.6.1) was continuously followed ...

Machine‐Learning‐Aided Advanced Electrochemical Biosensors
Electrochemical biosensors are highly sensitive, portable, and versatile. Advanced nanomaterials enhance their performance, while machine learning (ML) improves data analysis, minimizes interference, and optimizes sensor design. Despite progress in both fields, their combined potential in diagnostics remains underexplored.

Nitrate and nitrite reductase activities of Mycobacterium avium
Background: In spite of the fact that the standard test for nitrate reductase activity is negative for Mycobacterium avium, it can grow in a defined minimal medium with either nitrate (NO3) or nitrite (NO2) as sole nitrogen sources.

This review gives a summary on the representative bioinspired single‐atomic‐site catalysts (SACs) and their applications in heterogeneous electrocatalysis and photocatalysis. The fundamentals of bioinspired design strategies are systematically discussed in the context of the first shell coordination, the second/long‐range coordination, and the outer ...

Nitrate reduction in Haloferax alexandrinus: the case of assimilatory nitrate reductase [PDF]
Haloferax alexandrinus Strain TM JCM 10717T = IFO 16590T is an extreme halophilic archaeon able to produce significant amounts of canthaxanthin. Its genome sequence has been analysed in this work using bioinformatics tools available at Expasy in order to look for genes encoding nitrate reductase-like proteins: respiratory nitrate reductase (Nar) and/or

This study investigates the impact of nanostructured surface modification on corrosion resistance, HUVEC functions, and platelet interactions of 316L SS for cardiovascular stents. Nanostructured surfaces enhanced HUVEC proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis‐related gene expression while reducing platelet adhesion and hemolysis.

Effect of vanadium on nitrate reductase activity in tomato leaves
The activity of nitrate reductase in cell-free extracts from tomato leaves is completely inhibited by 100 μM NaVO3 or VOCl2. In experiments in vivo vanadium ions inhibit the activity of the enzyme in 50 to 60 per cent.

From nitrate to NO: potential effects of nitrate-reducing bacteria on systemic health and disease
Current research has described improving multisystem disease and organ function through dietary nitrate (DN) supplementation. They have provided some evidence that these floras with nitrate (NO3 −) reductase are mediators of the underlying mechanism ...
