Oxidation of α-Oxo-Oximes to Nitrile Oxides with Hypervalent Iodine Reagents
Upon reaction with PhI(OAc)2, α-oxo-aldoximes are oxidized to α-oxo-nitrile oxides, while α-oxo-ketoximes are converted into nitrile oxides via the oxidative cleavage of the carbonyl−imino σ bond.

A dual‐additive electrolyte strategy is developed to address the hydrolysis of I+ in the aqueous electrolytes. The steric‐hindrance effect of TES− effectively shields I+ from nucleophilic attacks by hydroxyl groups, facilitating the reversible I−/I0/I+ conversion with four‐electron transfer.

Atmospheric oxidation of nitriles
The reports of nitrile formation in actual and simulated auto emissions suggests a potential environmental hazard associated with the wide scale use of catalytic exhaust converters. Specifically, the atmospheric oxidation of nitriles is believed to occur via radical intermediates which can lead to both NO/sub x/ and CO production.

An Advanced Molecularly Imprinted Polymer‐Based Electrochemical Aptasensor for Carbendazim Detection
A dual‐recognition electrochemical aptasensor that integrates a molecular imprinted polymer (MIP) and an aptamer is developed for the detection of a common pesticide, carbendazim (CBZ). The resulting sensor exhibits enhanced selectivity toward CBZ over structurally similar compounds and achieves a low detection limit of 1.3 nm, demonstrating its ...

Iterative Assembly of Nitrile Oxides and Ynamides: Synthesis of Isoxazoles and Pyrroles
Described is an iterative assembly of nitrile oxides and ynamides for the synthesis of isoxazoles and pyrroles. The nitrile oxides could undergo Cu(I)-free cyclization with terminal ynamides for accessing isoxazoles, which could engage in another ...

Synthesis of Spiroisoxazolines by 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition
The cycloaddition of the chiral nitrile oxide 1 to 1-R-substituted 3,3-methylene-5,5-dimethyl-2-pyrrolidinones 2 (where R is H, n-butyl-, 1,1-dimethylethoxycarbonyl-, 1-methylethenyl- and acetyl-) proceeds regioselectively under the formation of ...
