Nitrate Reduction for Deaminative Suzuki‐Miyaura Coupling of Anilines

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
We present a deaminative Suzuki‐Miyaura‐type coupling (SMC) of anilines with nitrate as a diazotization reagent, which integrates transition‐metal catalysis with nitrate‐based diazonium chemistry for the first time. The synergistic reduction of nitrate by bisulfite and boronic acids allows for both oxidative diazotization with low‐valent transition ...

Priority effects in coral–macroalgae interactions can drive alternate community paths in the absence of top‐down control

open access: yesEcology, Volume 103, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract The outcomes of species interactions can vary greatly in time and space with the outcomes of some interactions determined by priority effects. On coral reefs, benthic algae rapidly colonize disturbed substrate. In the absence of top‐down control from herbivorous fishes, these algae can inhibit the recruitment of reef‐building corals, leading ...

Energy spectra and the expectation values of diatomic molecules confined by the shifted Deng-Fan potential [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
The approximate bound state solutions of the Schrodinger equation with shifted Deng-Fan potential was obtained via proper quantization rule. The energy spectra for the homogenous diatomic molecules (H2, I2); the heterogeneous diatomic molecules (CO, HCl, LiH); the neutral transition metal hydrides (ScH, TiH, VH, CrH); the transition-metal lithide (CuLi)

Hybridized indirect excitons in MoS2/WS2 heterobilayers [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Ensembles of indirect or interlayer excitons (IXs) are intriguing systems to explore classical and quantum phases of interacting bosonic ensembles. IXs are composite bosons that feature enlarged lifetimes due to the reduced overlap of the electron-hole wave functions.

Regulating Multifunctional Oxygen Vacancies for Plasma‐Driven Air‐to‐Ammonia Conversion

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Current ammonia (NH3) synthesis is hindered by challenges including N2 activation, NH3 separation, and process complexity. Here we report a plasma‐electrochemical process for the production of gaseous ammonia from air generated NOx, decoupled from processes employing liquid phase intermediaries such as NO3− and final product (NH4+).

Recent advances and challenges in temperature monitoring and control in microfluidic devices

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, Volume 44, Issue 1-2, Page 268-297, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Temperature is a critical—yet sometimes overlooked—parameter in microfluidics. Microfluidic devices can experience heating inside their channels during operation due to underlying physicochemical phenomena occurring therein. Such heating, whether required or not, must be monitored to ensure adequate device operation.

RNA‐Based Biopesticides: Pioneering Precision Solutions for Sustainable Aquaculture in China

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
The Chinese dragon represents RNA biopesticides, which effectively counteract bacterial, viral, and parasitic threats, safeguarding aquatic life. This method is precise, focusing solely on harmful agents and sparing beneficial aquaculture species. Its innovative nature protects aquatic environments while reducing ecological footprint.

Dynamics of the nitrogen and phosphorous content in the Rybinsk Reservoir over the many-year period

open access: yesВодное хозяйство России: проблемы, технологии, управление
Annual dynamics of the biogenic elements content enables to assess the degree of the water bodies’ trophic state and the scale of their anthropogenic euthrophication. We have researched content of all biogenic elements’ forms in the Rybinsk Reservoir in
