Photo-inhibition Effect from Strong Electron Withdrawing Nitro Group in N-[(E)(4-Bromophenyl)Methylidene]-4 Nitroaniline [PDF]
Light induced effect of N-[(E)-(4-bromophenyl)methylidene]-4nitroaniline was investigated using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. This study revealed that the presence of strong electron withdrawing nitro group inhibited the photo-reactivity of the compound ...

In Situ Amine Formation to Modulate MOF‐Derived PdIn N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts
An amine‐assisted approach converts PdIn‐MOF into PdIn intermetallic nanoparticles embedded in N‐doped carbon. In situ‐generated amines trigger early Pd nucleation, producing smaller PdIn domains than direct pyrolysis. Amine sterics and basicity tune composition and particle size, while solvent and amine co‐determine textural features.

Potential Building Blocks for 1,4‐Dihydro‐N‐heteroacenes
Studies have been performed aimed at the synthesis of N‐heteroacenes via substitution reactions of 4,5‐difluoro‐1,2‐dinitrobenzene with a diamine. The fluorine atoms are displaced first, followed by an activated nitro group.

Photochemical Fuel Carrier Molecules for Robotic Embodied Energy
We designed a novel fuel carrier photoresponsive molecule for on‐demand energy storage and release. Carrier molecules undergo bond scission under UV light to release chemical fuel and locally generate propulsive Marangoni flows. We demonstrate this photochemical embodied energy strategy in small‐scale robots and active matter systems, enabling ...

Preparation of organic hydrazides [PDF]
Thesis (M.A.)--Boston UniversityDue to the actual high price of hydrazine, this chemical cannot be used in an economical preparation of organic hydrazides. A synthesis of such hydrazides can be envisaged by the reduction of N-nitroamides.
