Nitrogen-15 NMR of pyridine in high magnetic: Fields [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance (1969), 1974
The 15N NMR of pyridine was studied in the liquid and solid state. In the liquid the spin-lattice relaxation time T1 was studied from −60 to +55°C at 14 and 30 MHz. At low temperature, the two most important relaxation mechanisms are relaxation due to anisotropic chemical shift and intermolecular dipole-dipole interaction.

Determination of 15N stable isotope natural abundances for assessing the use of saline reclaimed water in grapefruit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We reported the results of an isotopic study aimed at evaluating the medium to long-term effects of different water qualities and deficit irrigation strategies on the ecophysiology of grapefruit in a 7-year-old plantation in SE Spain.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Production of N2O in grass-clover pastures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
In organic as well as conventional dairy farming, grass-clover pastures is an important component of the cropping system. This is because grass-clover is an excellent cattle fodder, and because clover has the ability of fixing atmospheric N2.

Similarities between intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds in RNA kissing complexes found by means of cross-correlated relaxation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The bond lengths and dynamics of intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds in an RNA kissing complex have been characterized by determining the NMR relaxation rates of various double- and triple-quantum coherences that involve an imino proton and two ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Nitrogen Fixation and Translocation in Sugarcane [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
World sugarcane production is increasing rapidly as a biofuel. In some areas in Brazil, sugarcane has been grown continually over very long periods without N fertiliser inputs. Therefore, the occurrence of N fixation has been suspected.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

A low environmental impact system for fertirrigation of maize with cattle slurry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The applicability of an alternative system for managing and distributing cattle slurry during irrigation on maize was evaluated. An experiment was carried out by equipping a traveller boom with drop tubes and fed from a hose-reel machine.
