The Recycling Endosomal (Na+, K+)/H+ Exchanger NHE6/SLC9A6 Facilitates Signal Transduction by Shuttling Cyclin‐Dependent Kinase 5 to the Plasma Membrane

open access: yesActa Physiologica, Volume 242, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim The alkali cation/proton exchanger NHE6/SLC9A6 regulates luminal pH homeostasis and trafficking of recycling endosomes in most tissues, especially neurons. Loss‐of‐function mutations in NHE6 cause Christianson Syndrome, an X‐linked neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorder; however, the underlying molecular and cellular mechanisms ...

Aromatic Nitrogen Mustards [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
This work was stimulated by the search for more potent drug/prodrug combinations in the field of the aromatic nitrogen mustards, for potential used in antibody directed enzyme prodrug therapy. 4-Acyl prodrugs of N,N-bis(2-chloroethyl)-4-amino-aniline, possible substrates for the bacterial enzyme acylarylamidase E.C.

Agronomic and Environmental Benefits of Recovered Gypsum for Sulfur Fertilization in Camelina for Biofuel Production

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 6, June 2026.
Camelina sativa, a low‐input oilseed for biofuel production, was evaluated under different sulfur fertilization strategies using recycled gypsum as a S‐source. Adding a moderate sulfur supply (40 kg ha−1) to regular nitrogen fertilization increased crop productivity and reduced environmental impacts, including emissions associated with iLUC, supporting

Plant biomass nitrogen and effects on the risk of nitrate leaching of intercrops under organic farming in Eastern Austria [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Data on the potential of intercrops to reduce soil nitrate contents, on their N accumulation and biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) are lacking for organic farming in the dry, pannonic region of Eastern Austria.

Radiotherapy Enhancement by Gold Nanocluster‐functionalized Nanoliposomes Using Polychromatic Orthovoltage X‐ray Irradiation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 9, 5 May 2026.
Lipid drug carriers to which ultra‐small gold nanoparticles were added enabled more efficient radiotherapy of cultured pancreatic cancer tumors. These nanoparticles boosted radiation‐induced damage to tumors by generating more reactive molecules, though higher gold levels are needed for strong benefits.

Hybrid in vitro diffusion cell for simultaneous evaluation of hair and skin decontamination: temporal distribution of chemical contaminants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Most casualty or personnel decontamination studies have focused on removing contaminants from the skin. However, scalp hair and underlying skin are the most likely areas of contamination following airborne exposure to chemicals. The aim of this study was
