A Polymer‐Intercalated Modulation Assembly Strategy Towards Mesoporous Single‐Crystalline BiVO4 Materials for Enhanced Photocatalytic Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A polymer‐intercalated modulation assembly strategy was proposed to synthesize mesoporous single‐crystalline BiVO4 with tunable pore structure by co‐assembly of inorganic–organic composite through coordination bonds and hydrogen bonds. Thanks to single‐crystalline properties and mesoporous structure with vanadium vacancy microenvironment, the prepared ...

Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...

The Syringe Nitroxide Free Radical – Part II [PDF]

open access: yesFree Radical Research Communications, 1993
Some plastic syringes introduce a nitroxide free radical into the fluids they contain. The EPR spectrum shows a triplet with aN = 17.0 +/- 0.1 G in plasma. We report here that this nitroxide/hydroxylamine couple serves as an antioxidant system, whose redox potential appears to be between that of vitamin C and vitamin E.

water exchange in bacterial photosynthetic reaction centers embedded in a trehalose glass studied using multiresonance EPR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Using isotope labeled water (D2O and H217O) and pulsed W-band (94 GHz) high- field multiresonance EPR spectroscopies, such as ELDOR-detected NMR and ENDOR, the biologically important question of detection and quantification of local water in proteins ...

Low Operational Stability of Enzymes in Dry Organic Solvents: Changes in the Active Site Might Affect Catalysis

open access: yesMolecules, 2012
The potential of enzyme catalysis in organic solvents for synthetic applications has been overshadowed by the fact that their catalytic properties are affected by organic solvents. In addition, it has recently been shown that an enzyme’s initial activity

Thermo-responsive, UV-active poly(phenyl acrylate)-b-poly(diethyl acrylamide) block copolymers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The homopolymerization of phenyl acrylate (PA) was investigated for the first time by nitroxide mediated polymerization (NMP) with the succinimidyl form of the SG1-based unimolecular initiator 2-[N-tert-butyl-2,2-(dimethylpropyl)-aminooxy]propionic acid (

Unraveling Synthetase's Mode of Action: The Pyrrolysyl‐tRNA Synthetase Dimer Uses Secondary Binding Sites in the Cell

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
The pyrrolysyl‐tRNA synthetase dimer exhibits an alternating mode of action of its monomers within its catalytic cycle, which is realized upon occupation of secondary binding sites located at the intermonomer interfaces outside the catalytic binding site.

Rotaxane-catalyzed aerobic oxidation of primary alcohols

open access: yesCommunications Chemistry
Nitroxide radicals are widely utilized as catalysts for the oxidation of primary alcohols. Here, the aerobic catalytic oxidation cycle of nitroxide radicals has been implemented within a mechanically interlocked rotaxane architecture consisting of a ...

SYNTHESIS OF NEW PYRROLINE NITROXIDES WITH ETHYNYL FUNCTIONAL GROUP [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
3-Substituted and 3,4-disubstituted pyrroline nitroxides containing an ethynyl group or two ethynyl groups were achieved by the reaction of a paramagnetic aldehydes with dimethyl (1-diazo-2-oxopropyl)phosphonate (Bestmann–Ohira reagent).
