Nitroxide-Substituted Nitronyl Nitroxide and Iminonitroxide
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2010We report on the highly compact nitroxide-substituted nitronyl nitroxide 1 and iminonitroxide 2; they have isoelectronic structures with trimethylenemethane. These diradicals are stable under aerated conditions at room temperature and have large positive exchange interactions: J/k(B) = +390 K (H = -2JS(1)(/)(2)·S(1/2)) for 1 and J/k(B) ≈ +550 K for 2.

Russian Chemical Reviews, 2022
In recent years, research dealing with organic paramagnetic compounds such as stable radicals and high-spin systems has been focused on applied aspects. Several key trends have formed in the application and, hence, in the function-oriented synthesis of organic radicals and polyradicals.

Pyrimidinyl Nitronyl Nitroxides
Chemistry – A European Journal, 2006AbstractThe chemistry of 2,2,4,4‐substituted pentane derivatives has been investigated with the aim of providing a flexible and versatile synthetic route to pyrimidinyl nitronyl nitroxides, in which the bis‐N‐oxy fragment is incorporated in a six‐membered ring.

Solvent Effect in β-Phosphorylated Nitroxides: Model Nitroxides
Applied Magnetic Resonance, 2015Solvent effects have been investigated for the last four decades. As far as we know, only 3 articles have reported on the solvent effect with beta-phosphorylated nitroxides. In 1976, Il'Yasov and coll. (Theor Exp Chem 12:656, 1976) showed in 16 solvents that the phosphorus hyperfine coupling constant a (P) linearly decreased with the polarity of the ...

Lanthanide–Nitronyl Nitroxide Chains Derived from Multidentate Nitronyl Nitroxides
Inorganic Chemistry, 2018Unprecedented lanthanide (Ln)-radical loop-chain coordination polymers were achieved using multidentate pyridyl- or triazole- substituted nitronyl nitroxide ligands. Their magnetic units consist of ferromagnetic [Ln2Radical] moieties, leading for the dysprosium(III) derivatives to slow relaxation of magnetization, which was found to be dependent on the

Organic Synthesis Using Nitroxides
Chemical Reviews, 2023Nitroxides, also known as nitroxyl radicals, are long-lived or stable radicals with the general structure R1R2N-O•. The spin distribution over the nitroxide N and O atoms contributes to the thermodynamic stability of these radicals. The presence of bulky N-substituents R1 and R2 prevents nitroxide radical dimerization, ensuring their kinetic stability.
