Mitochondrial DNA in NLRP3 inflammasome activation

International Immunopharmacology, 2022
As an intracellular polyprotein complex, the NLRP3 inflammasome is activated by NLRP3 perceiving pathogen-related molecular patterns, damage-related molecular patterns(DAMPs), which will result in the secretion of the caspase1-dependent pro-inflammatory cytokines IL1β and IL18, and the cleavage of GSDMD-mediated pyroptosis.

Targeting NLRP3 inflammasome for neurodegenerative disorders

Molecular Psychiatry, 2023
Neuroinflammation is a key pathological feature in neurological diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD). The nucleotide-binding domain leucine-rich repeat-containing proteins (NLRs) belong to the pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) family that sense stress signals, which play an important role in inflammation.

Flavonoids interfere with NLRP3 inflammasome activation

Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 2018
NOD-like receptor (NLR) family, pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is a component of innate immunity, and is responsible for producing mature IL-1β and -18. Several flavonoids were found to affect inflammasome pathway, but the mechanism of action is still obscure.

[NLRP3 inflammasome and diabetes].

Sheng wu yi xue gong cheng xue za zhi = Journal of biomedical engineering = Shengwu yixue gongchengxue zazhi, 2015
Diabetes has become a global epidemic disease now. Its chronic progressive deterioration and the acuteand chronic complications affect the quality of the patients' lives seriously. The prevention and treatment of diabetes has become one of the research focuses in recent years. NLRP3 (NOD-like receptor family, pyrin domain containing 3) inflammasome can
