Integrable boundary conditions for the nonlinear Schrödinger hierarchy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We study integrable boundary conditions associated with the whole hierarchy of nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger (NLS) equations defined on the half-line. We find that the even order NLS equations and the odd order NLS equations admit rather different integrable boundary conditions.

Targeting Histone H3K9 Methyltransferase G9a as a Potential Therapeutic Strategy for Neuropsychiatric Disorders

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neuropsychiatric disorders present a multifaceted challenge, characterized by cognitive, social, and motor impairments with manifold underlying mechanisms. Recent attention has turned to epigenetic mechanisms, particularly histone lysine methyltransferases (HKMTs), such as G9a, in understanding fundamental pathogenesis.

Natural Learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We introduce Natural Learning (NL), a novel algorithm that elevates the explainability and interpretability of machine learning to an extreme level. NL simplifies decisions into intuitive rules, like "We rejected your loan because your income, employment status, and age collectively resemble a rejected prototype more than an accepted prototype." When ...

Dietary macronutrient content and energy intake in the mouse: hedonic or homeostatic override?

open access: yesObesity, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective The objective of this study was to reconcile how two landmark mouse studies came to opposite conclusions regarding the relationship between dietary macronutrient composition and energy intake. Hu et al. concluded that dietary fat drives excess energy intake because its hedonic properties override energy homeostasis. Solon‐Biet et al.

Structural complexity of hard substrates shapes shallow marine benthic communities

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Structurally complex habitats offer niche diversity, with varying biotic and abiotic conditions, generally leading to higher biodiversity compared to simpler habitats. However, our understanding of the response of ecological communities to increased complexity and the underlying drivers remain ambiguous due to discrepancies in how complexity is ...

Narrow-leaved lupine seeds as a dietary protein source for fattening rabbits: a comparison with white lupine seeds

open access: yesAnimal, 2020
Lupine seeds have the potential to be an alternative to imported dietary proteins. In rabbits, it has been indicated that White lupine seed (WLS) is a suitable protein source.
