Infrequent Detection of Microsatellite Alterations in Serum DNA of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Recent studies indicate that soluble tumor DNA and microsatellite alterations have been identified in the peripheral blood of small cell lung cancer patients.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Vascular phenotype in angiogenic and non-angiogenic lung non-small cell carcinomas. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We have previously described a group of non-small cell lung carcinomas without morphological evidence of neo-angiogenesis. In these tumours neoplastic cells fill up the alveoli and the only vessels present appear to belong to the trapped alveolar septa ...

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

HBXIP suppression reduces cell proliferation and migration and its overexpression predicts poor prognosis in non-small-cell lung cancer

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2017
Emerging evidence has demonstrated that the high expression of HBXIP has been correlated with many cancers. With evaluation of the functional role of HBXIP in non-small-cell lung cancer, the primary aim of this study is to investigate the correlation ...

Patient derived cancer-associated fibroblasts from non-small cell lung cancer undergo phenotypic drift in culture

open access: yes
Nanostring nCounter targeted RNA Seq. data of fibroblast cells isolated from human non-cancerous lung tissue and non-small cell lung cancer tumour tissue as well as fibroblasts maintained for three passages in culture from both origins as shown in ...

Angiogenesis and non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yes, 2000
Lung cancer is the commonest cause of cancer death in the western world. Recent evidence suggests that angiogenesis is related to poor prognosis in many solid tumours including non-small cell lung cancer.

Intra-tumour signalling entropy determines clinical outcome in breast and lung cancer. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The cancer stem cell hypothesis, that a small population of tumour cells are responsible for tumorigenesis and cancer progression, is becoming widely accepted and recent evidence has suggested a prognostic and predictive role for such cells. Intra-tumour

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Immunotherapy in inoperable stage III non-small cell lung cancer: a review

open access: yesDrugs in Context, 2019
The leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States continues to be lung cancer. Approximately 25–30% of patients are diagnosed with locally advanced nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
