Non‐aqueous Liquid Electrolyte Additives for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

Chemistry – An Asian Journal
AbstractSodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) have been recognized as one of the most promising new energy storage devices for their rich sodium resources, low cost and high safety. The electrolyte, as a bridge connecting the cathode and anode electrodes, plays a vital role in determining the performance of SIBs, such as coulombic efficiency, energy density and ...

The conductivity of non-aqueous electrolyte solutions containing crown-ethers

Electrochimica Acta, 1983
The conductance of NaI and RbI in acetonitrile solutions at 25°C in presence of different crown-ethers was measured. Analysis of the data in pure acetonitrile and in presence of the crown compounds was carried out using the Fuoss-Onsager-Skinner equations.

Electrolytic deposition of lithium from non-aqueous solutions

Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 1979
This paper describes a study of the deposition of lithium from lithium salts (LiNO3, LiCl, and LiClO4) in organic solvents (CH3CN, (CH3)2SO, HCONH2, HCON(CH3)2, CH3CON(CH3)2, and THF) using the potential-sweep technique. The current efficiency for lithium deposition was found to depend on both the solvent used and the particular anion in the ...

Principles of interactions in non-aqueous electrolyte solutions

Current Opinion in Colloid & Interface Science, 2013
Abstract In this paper a review is presented on the molecular interactions in non-aqueous media of low dielectric permittivity. Qualitative and quantitative distinctions with aqueous solutions are emphasized. The reviewed themes include dispersion forces, dissociation and association equilibria, discrimination between electrostatic and non ...

CHAPTER 2. Non-aqueous Electrolytes for Mg Batteries

2019
Battery electrolytes are the medium that link the battery anode and the cathode. As such, they need to simultaneously satisfy a myriad of requirements that make the development of electrolytes a challenging endeavor. That is, at the very minimum, they need to possess a sufficient electrochemical stability window together with acceptable ionic transport.

Understanding Solubility: Zirconium Electrodeposition in Non-aqueous Electrolytes

Electrochemical Society (ECS) Fall Meeting ; 2024-10-06 - 2024-10-11
Non-aqueous electrodeposition entails the process of depositing metals or materials onto electrodes using a solvent or electrolyte that isn't water-based. Researchers have been exploring various techniques such as molten salt, ionic liquids, organic solvents, and deep eutectic solvents for non-aqueous electrodeposition in order to obtain zirconium ...

Thermodynamics of dissolution of non-electrolytes and electrolytes in non-aqueous solvents

Journal of Thermal Analysis, 1988
Experimental results on the ΔHsoln of noble gases, polar non-electrolyte molecules, porphyrins, their metallocomplexes and organic electrolytes in individual and mixed solvents are discussed. Xe was shown to indicate changes in solvent mixtures and also to exert a noticeable influence on the character of intermolecular interactions in solutions.
