Rarefaction criterion and non-Fourier heat transfer in hypersonic rarefied flows

Physics of Fluids, 2010
As a hypersonic flow transits from continuous to more and more rarefied, both the bow shock wave and the boundary layer over a leading edge will gradually become thickening, touching, and interlacing with each other, characterizing the evolution of the flow field structure.

Non-Fourier phase change heat transfer in biological tissues during solidification

Heat and Mass Transfer, 2012
The phase change in biological tissues during a freezing process is simulated by hyperbolic and parabolic heat equations with temperature-dependent enthalpy. It is observed that the experimental results are in a good agreement with that the calculated results by the enthalpy method.

Analysis of Non-Fourier Conduction-Radiation Heat Transfer in a Cylindrical Enclosure

Numerical Heat Transfer, Part A: Applications, 2010
This article deals with the analysis of non-Fourier conduction and radiation heat transfer in a participating medium contained between 1-D concentric cylinders. The conducting-radiating medium is radiatively absorbing, emitting, and scattering. The non-Fourier effect is analyzed by suddenly perturbing the temperatures of the concentric cylinders.

Computational investigation on non‐Fourier heat transfer in polymeric liquid with multi‐nanoscale and microscale structures in Forchheimer porous medium using Galerkin finite element method

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik
Several physical phenomena associated with fluid–solid interaction occur in the presence of granular, micro, nanoscale, and crystal structures. Heat transfer in fluids containing such microbodies cannot be studied using conventional rheological stress ...

Comparison of fourier and non-fourier heat transfer in nanoscale semiconductor structures

2014 Semiconductor Thermal Measurement and Management Symposium (SEMI-THERM), 2014
This paper is devoted to the demonstration of fundamental differences between the Fourier and non-Fourier heat transfer mechanisms in nanoscale silicon structures. One-dimensional parabolic and hyperbolic heat equation is solved for a simple test structure. Then, the obtained solutions in frequency and time domains are compared.

Meshless analysis of casting process considering non-Fourier heat transfer

2016
Casting is considered as a major manufacturing process. Thermal analysis of a solidifying medium is of great importance for appropriate design of casting processes. The conventional governing equation of a solidifying medium is based on the Fourier heat conduction law, which does not account for the phase-lag between the heat flux and the temperature ...

The magnetized flow of Newtonian/non‐Newtonian fluid across a curved surface with reaction kinetics and non‐Fourier heat transfer

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik
This study aims to compare the dual solutions of the problem describing the magnetized motion of a Newtonian and second‐grade fluid induced by a curved stretching/shrinking surface using the associations of homogeneous–heterogeneous reaction and Cattaneo–
