The non-linear link between non-high-density lipoprotein to high-density lipoprotein ratio and the risk of stroke in middle-aged and older adults in Chinese: a prospective cohort study from the China health and retirement longitudinal study

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
ObjectiveThis study aims to assess the association between the non-HDL-c/HDL-c ratio and stroke risk among middle-aged and older adults participating in the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS).MethodsThis study conducted a prospective

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Non-linear strategies in a linear quadratic differential game [PDF]

open access: yes
We study non-linear Markov perfect equilibria in a two agent linear quadratic differential game. In contrast to the literature owing to Tsutsui and Mino (1990), we do not associate endogenous subsets of the state space with candidate solutions.

Group analysis of kinetic equations in a non-linear thermal transport problem

open access: yes, 2015
An application of modern group analysis to electron kinetic equations in non-linear thermal transport problem is discussed. The admitted symmetry group is calculated, and the optimal system of one and two-dimensional subalgebras is constructed ...

Relationship of HOMA-IR with chronic kidney disease in diabetic and non-diabetic Chinese populations: findings from the REACTION study

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
BackgroundChronic kidney disease (CKD) affects 8.2% of China’s population and is a major global health concern. While insulin resistance (IR) is linked to CKD, the relationship between insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and CKD risk remains unclear, especially

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Non-linear and context-dependent association of maternal BMI with cumulative live birth in Chinese women undergoing intrauterine insemination: a retrospective study of 3788 cycles

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
BackgroundEvidence regarding maternal body mass index (BMI) and intrauterine insemination (IUI) outcomes remains controversial. This study aimed to evaluate such independent associations, focusing on potential non-linear patterns, clinical thresholds ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Generalization of the Achenbach-Chao model for waves in non-linear hereditary media

open access: yes, 1996
An analogue of the Achenbach-Chao model for the case of wave propagation in non-linear hereditary elastic media is considered.

Crawlers in viscous environments: Linear vs non-linear rheology

open access: yes, 2013
We study model self-propelled crawlers which derive their propulsive capabilities from the tangential resistance to motion offered by the environment.
