Bioinspired Soft‐Skeleton Robotics With Cooperative Shape Transformation and Stiffness Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A bioinspired soft‐skeleton robot that integrates variable‐stiffness chain skeletons into a soft textile skin is developed. The chain skeletons are highly flexible initially but can stiffen upon pneumatic actuation, enabling large deformation and enhanced load‐bearing capacity.

Stress Accumulation Induced by Ion Exchange for Synchronous Modulation of Mode and Wavelength in Microlasers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a paradigm‐shifting strategy to simultaneously achieve broadband wavelength tunability and single‐mode control within a single perovskite microwire structure. Using a facile heating‐assisted solid–solid anion‐exchange strategy, we synthesized phase‐pure CsPbClxBr3‐x microwires that exhibit the widest reported continuous lasing ...

Learning Moisture‐Induced Damage From Vision: Diffusion Models for Real‐Time Monitoring of Additive Manufacturing Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce a vision‐based real‐time monitoring system for additive manufacturing that detects subtle moisture‐induced degradation via a diffusion model‐based framework. The approach enables nondestructive assessment of moisture‐induced damage level and mechanical performance and establishes a practical route toward more intelligent, reliable, and ...

Determination of Groove Filling Levels of Pressed Pipe-Fitting Connections Using Phased Array Ultrasound Evaluated by a CNN

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In this paper, a method for determining the filling level of grooves (1 mm (W) × 0.25 mm (H)) in pressed titanium pipe-fitting joints is presented. The joints are inspected in a water bath using a 20 MHz phased array ultrasound, and the acquired raw B ...
