Computational Characterization of the Role of LEM2/LaminA Interactions on the Stability of BAF‐Dimer Using Molecular Simulations

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The effect of the presence of the BAF‐binding LEM‐domain and LaminA Ig‐fold on the stability of the BAF dimer was studied qualitatively using non‐equilibrium pull simulations and quantitatively through the calculation of the potential of mean force profile along BAF–BAF separation distance.

Force-current structure in Markovian open quantum systems and its applications: Geometric housekeeping-excess decomposition and thermodynamic trade-off relations

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Thermodynamic force and irreversible current are the foundational concepts of classical nonequilibrium thermodynamics. Entropy production rate is provided by their product in classical systems, ranging from mesoscopic to macroscopic systems.

Pulse Electrodeposited NiFeCoMoW High‐Entropy Alloy Electrode for Efficient Alkaline Water Electrolysis

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A pulse‐electrodeposited NiFeCoMoW high‐entropy alloy grown on copper foam forms a binder‐free, hierarchical electrode for alkaline water splitting. The bifunctional catalyst achieves low overpotentials for hydrogen and oxygen evolution and enables efficient two‐electrode electrolysis, delivering 1.52 V at 10 mA cm−2 and 1.83 V at 1000 mA cm−2.

Facet‐Engineered ZnO as an Interfacial Regulator for Stable Lithium Metal Anodes

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Programmable electrothermal‐wave (ETW) processing enables precise facet and morphology control of ZnO, redefining it as an interfacial regulator for stabilizing Li‐metal anodes. ETW‐controlled crystallization modulates diffusion pathways to produce facet‐specific and morphology‐defined ZnO that governs Li nucleation.

The Control–Entropy Paradox: Modeling the Thermodynamic Limits of Environmental Governance

open access: yesSystems Research and Behavioral Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Environmental governance often seeks to reduce disorder, yet the energetic and material costs of control are overlooked. This article presents the Control–Entropy Paradox, developing a formal systems model and a conceptual extension of governance theory.

Nonequilibrium thermodynamics of uncertain stochastic processes

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Stochastic thermodynamics is formulated under the assumption of perfect knowledge of all thermodynamic parameters. However, in any real-world situation, there is nonzero uncertainty about the precise value of temperatures, chemical potentials, energy ...

Mind and Cosmos as Throughput Systems: A Convergence Through the Throughput Model

open access: yesSystems Research and Behavioral Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper advances a conceptual and mathematical foundations approach by applying the throughput model (TPM) to cosmic phenomena, reframing the universe as an extended information processing system. TPM's four stages, Perception, Information, Judgement and Decision Choice, are reformulated in explicit information‐theoretic and dynamical ...

Thermal Diffusion Factor in Gas Mixture-Dufour Effect (I) [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 1991
The thermal diffusion factor, aT, for a binary gas mixture is calculated on the basis of nonequilibrium thermodynamics. A new formula for aT is derived and this factor is given for several paris of gases according to this formula.
