Abstract Mercury (Hg) photoreduction on urban aerosols plays a critical role in atmospheric Hg cycling, yet the effects of the adsorption state on its kinetics and isotopic fractionation remain poorly constrained. This study investigates Hg(II) photoreduction under equilibrium (EAC) and non‐equilibrium adsorption conditions (NAC) using a flow‐through ...

Abstract This study presents analysis of the nearshore marine atmospheric surface layer during Super Typhoon Yagi using detailed observational data. As the typhoon's peripheral circulation intensified, wind speeds increased across the observed heights (16.4–35.1 m), while the vertical wind profile remained relatively uniform, likely due to the limited ...

Fast and Slow Signal Propagation in Abiotic Polypeptide Assemblies
Proteinoid microspheres formed by thermal polymerization of amino acids exhibit spontaneous electrical potential fluctuations without genetic material, membranes, or ion channels. Multi‐electrode recordings and electron microscopy reveal composition‐dependent voltage oscillations, long‐term drifts, and correlated signals across electrodes.

Size‐Dependent Melting Behavior of Ultrafine Fault Rocks
Abstract Dynamic weakening during earthquake ruptures is essential for accommodating fault slip and controlling seismic energy release. This weakening is localized within narrow principal slip zones (PSZs) that commonly contain nanoparticles in both natural and experimental faults.

Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

A metastable‐phase evolution strategy is proposed for magnesium‐ion batteries, enabling the in situ formation of a metastable MgxT‐VS4 cathode during cycling. The metastable state reshapes Mg2+ storage kinetics and enhances structural stability, offering a new design paradigm for multivalent ion battery cathodes.

Random nitrogen substitution breaks translational symmetry in WSe2, creating localized impurity states near the band gap. In contrast, periodic nitrogen doping forms a superlattice, a man‐made crystal, that restores translational symmetry, broadening impurity states into dispersive sub‐bands that merge with the valence band. This enables controlled and

Photo‐Excitations in Halide Perovskites: Where Do Simulations and Experiments Meet?
Aiming to bridge the gap between simulations and measurements of light–matter couplings and photo‐excitations in new functional materials, this perspective highlights insights and bottlenecks of state‐of‐the‐art experimental and theoretical methods (2D electronic spectroscopy vs.
