Unconstrained receding-horizon control of nonlinear systems [PDF]
It is well known that unconstrained infinite-horizon optimal control may be used to construct a stabilizing controller for a nonlinear system. We show that similar stabilization results may be achieved using unconstrained finite horizon optimal control ...

Adaptive control of nonlinear underwater robotic systems [PDF]
The problem of controlling underwater mobile robots in 6 degrees of freedom (DOF) is addressed. Uncertainties in the input matrix due to partly known nonlinear thruster characteristics are modeled as multiplicative input uncertainty.

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

Controlled invariance for nonlinear systems: Two worked examples [PDF]
In recent years a (local) nonlinear version of the theory of (A,B)- invariant subspaces has been developed, under suitable regularity conditions, by Hirschhorn, Isidori, Krener, Nijmeijer and van der Schaft. The purpose of the present paper is to illustrate the existing theory by two worked examples. The first example deals with the dynamics of a rigid

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Generalized Controlled Invariance for Nonlinear Systems [PDF]
Summary: A general setting is developed which describes controlled invariance for nonlinear control systems and which incorporates the previous approaches dealing with controlled invariant (co -) distributions. A special class of controlled invariant subspaces, called controllability cospaces, is introduced.
