Vorticity cutoff in nonlinear photonic crystals [PDF]
Using group theory arguments, we demonstrate that, unlike in homogeneous media, no symmetric vortices of arbitrary order can be generated in two-dimensional (2D) nonlinear systems possessing a discrete-point symmetry.

Nonlinear Photonic Crystals: IV. Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation Regime [PDF]
We study here the nonlinear Schrodinger Equation (NLS) as the first term in a sequence of approximations for an electromagnetic (EM) wave propagating according to the nonlinear Maxwell equations (NLM).

Solitons in quadratic nonlinear photonic crystals [PDF]
We study solitons in one-dimensional quadratic nonlinear photonic crystals with modulation of both the linear and nonlinear susceptibilities. We derive averaged equations that include induced cubic nonlinearities and numerically find previously unknown ...

Nonlinear interference in crystal superlattices [PDF]
AbstractNonlinear interferometers with correlated photons hold promise to advance optical characterization and metrology techniques by improving their performance and affordability. These interferometers offer subshot noise phase sensitivity and enable measurements in detection-challenging regions using inexpensive and efficient components.

A Brief Review on Nonlinear Photonic Crystals Induced by Direct Femtosecond Laser Writing
Direct femtosecond laser writing or inscription is a useful technique, and it has been employed to engineer various materials in many applications including nonlinear photonic crystals, which are of periodically patterned second-order nonlinearity to get
