Nonlinear electrical conductivity of metallic microcontacts in an alternating electric field
Soviet Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 1983The problem of the behavior of a point contact between normal metals in an alternating electric field with arbitrary frequency and amplitude is solved using the technique of quasiclassical energy-integrated Green's functions. The nonlinear components of the current due to the electron-phonon interaction are obtained.

Theory of nonlinear electrical conductivity via integral Boltzmann equation
Il Nuovo Cimento B, 1978An integral transport theory for determining the distribution function of test particles, which diffuse in the presence of an external conservative force in a system of field particles, is proposed. How—for the case in which the test particles are taken to be electrons—the validity of Ohm’s law can be checked and the subsequent evaluation of electrical

Electrical conduction processes and high-electric-field poling in nonlinear optical polymers
SPIE Proceedings, 1996We report on electrical conduction phenomena occurring during high electric field electrode poling of side chain (chi) (2 ) polymers. Electric current and second harmonic intensity were measured simultaneously in poling experiments performed on samples with and without an additional inorganic poly-methyl-siloxane layer.

Nonlinear conductivity of aqueous electrolytes: Beyond the first Wien effect.
Journal of Chemical PhysicsThe conductivity of strong electrolytes increases under high electric fields, a nonlinear response known as the first Wien effect. Here, using molecular dynamics simulations, we show that this increase is almost suppressed in moderately concentrated ...

Electrical-field induced nonlinear conductive behavior in dense zirconia ceramic
Journal of Materials Science & Technology, 2017Abstract The effect of the applied electric field on the conductive behavior of zirconia ceramics is studied by measuring its initial current-voltage curve at various temperatures. The results show that when the field strength is higher than the threshold for flash-sintering, the curves exhibit a nonlinear behavior by having an additional current on ...

Nonlinear electrical conductivity of tin‐filled urea‐formaldehyde‐cellulose composites
Polymer Composites, 2005AbstractThis work reports on the elaboration and characterization of composite materials prepared by compression molding of mixtures of tin powder and a commercial grade thermosetting resin of urea‐formaldehyde filled with alpha‐cellulose in powder form. The morphology of constituents and composites has been characterized by optical microscopy.

Nonlinear electrical conductivity of a fully ionized gas
IRE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1962The electrical conductivity of a fully ionized gas is analyzed based on the Fokker-Planck equation. It is found to have nonlinear characteristics if the impressed electric field is not restricted to be very small. The electrical conductivity of both dc and ac cases is investigated and the critical conditions are discussed. A convenient way of obtaining

Sensitive Method for the Measurement of Nonlinearity of Electrical Conduction
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1964If an ac potential V=V0 (cosωt+cos2ωt) is applied to an element whose current-voltage relationship can be expressed as I=aV+bV2+cV3+…, there will be a dc component of the current proportional to the coefficient c. Equations are developed and apparatus is described for using this fact to measure deviations from Ohm's law.
