IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Variation in loss of immunity shapes influenza epidemics and the impact of vaccination

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases, 2017
Background Protective antibody immunity against the influenza A virus wanes in 2–7 years due to antigenic drift of the virus’ surface proteins. The duration of immune protection is highly variable because antigenic evolution of the virus is irregular ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Nonlinear Volterra integrodifferential evolution inclusions and optimal control [PDF]

open access: yesKodai Mathematical Journal, 1991
Volterra integrodifferential evolution inclusions of nonconvolutory type with time dependent unbounded operators and with both convex and nonconvex multivalued perturbations are studied. The results obtained are applied to distributed parameter optimal control problems. By assuming suitable assumptions on the operator \(A\) and on the multifunction \(F\

Nonlinear Volterra delay evolution inclusions subjected to nonlocal initial conditions

open access: yesTopological Methods in Nonlinear Analysis, 2021
This paper deals with a nonlinear Volterra delay evolution inclusion subjected to a nonlocal implicit initial condition. The evolution inclusion involves an $m$-dissipative operator (possibly multivalued and/or nonlinear) and a noncompact interval. We first consider the evolution inclusion subjected to a local initial condition and prove an existence ...

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Market Typology and Dynamics of Economic Growth [PDF]

open access: yesProblemi Ekonomiki
It is found that the diversity of the economy’s market (perfect competition, monopoly, oligopoly, and monopolistic competition) serves as a key to endogenous adaptation in studying economic evolution through computer modeling.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Predicting large-scale cosmological structure evolution with generative adversarial network-based autoencoders

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Predicting the nonlinear evolution of cosmic structure from initial conditions is typically approached using Lagrangian, particle-based methods. These techniques excel in terms of tracking individual trajectories, but they might not be suitable for ...
