Electro‐Steric Ion Confinement in Polyelectrolyte Networks for Robust Nonvolatile Artificial Synapse

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polyelectrolyte stoichiometry governs ion transport and retention in electrolyte‐gated synaptic transistors. A PSS‐rich network creates electro‐steric ion confinement that suppresses ion back‐diffusion and stabilizes channel doping, enabling robust nonvolatile synaptic memory, linear weight updates, and low‐energy operation.

The maximum principles and symmetry results for viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear equations

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 2015
This paper is concerned about maximum principles and radial symmetry for viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear partial differential equations. We obtain the radial symmetry and monotonicity properties for nonnegative viscosity solutions of begin{equation}F (D^2 u)+u^p=0 \quad \quad \mbox{in}\ \mathbb R^n \label{abs}\end{equation} under the asymptotic ...

Maximum principle and existence of positive solutions for nonlinear systems involving degenerate p-Laplacian operators

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2007
We study the maximum principle and existence of positive solutions for the nonlinear system egin{gather*} -Delta _{p,_{P}}u=a(x)|u|^{p-2}u+b(x)|u|^{alpha }|v|^{eta }v+f quad ext{in } Omega , \ -Delta _{Q,q}v=c(x)|u|^{alpha }|v|^{eta }u+d(x)|v|^{q-2}v+g

Powering Nanocrystal‐Based Heat Engines With Light‐Emitting Metasurfaces That Influence Their Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurfaces and other structured photonic environments can dramatically modify the absorption and/or light emission of semiconductors. However, the consequences of these changes on the temperature of the system are not well understood. The authors address this problem for colloidal nanocrystals and leverage their findings to convert light into ...

A Maximum Principle for Bounded Solutions of the Telegraph Equations and Applications to Nonlinear Forcings

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2000
The authors prove a weak maximum principle for the solutions of the telegraph equation \[ u_{tt}- u_{xx}+ cu_t+\lambda u= f(t,x)\qquad (c>0) \] which are \(2\pi\)-periodic with respect to \(x\) and bounded over \(\mathbb{R}\) with respect to \(t\). Then the maximum principle is generalized to the case where \(f\) is replaced by an element in a suitable

Functional Precision Oncology Approach Using Nanoliter Droplet Array for Drug Sensitivity Testing in Lung Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A miniaturized drug sensitivity and resistance testing (DSRT) workflow based on the Droplet Microarray (DMA) platform enables functional drug testing using minimal patient‐derived tumor material. By screening nanoliter‐scale droplets containing as few as 300 cells, this approach generates reproducible and tumor‐specific drug response profiles ...

Strong solvability for a class of nonlinear parabolic equations

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 1997
Existence of strong solutions to Cauchy-Dirichlet problem for nonlinear parabolic equation is established. The nonlinear operator is prescribed by Carathéodory's function which satisfies an ellipticity condition due to S. Campanato.
