Muscle Control of an Extra Robotic Digit
This study compares muscle‐ and movement‐based control for operating a supernumerary robotic thumb. While movement control performs better in the proposed tasks, muscle‐based (EMG) control promotes broader motor learning. The results highlight the promise and challenges of using biosignals for human augmentation, offering new insights into intuitive ...

3D‐Printing Aided Rapid Prototyping of Pretensioned Tensegrity Structures for Robotic Applications
Printing, injection molding, and assembly (PMA) is a method for rapid prototyping mesoscale, topologically complex, and tensioned tensegrity structures. In combination with PMA method, two mold design strategies: modular mold and compact channel layout, enable efficiency and scalability for tensegrity fabrication.

The nonlinear optical properties of KTA
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe, 1996Since the discovery of the promising nonlinear optical (nlo) properties of KTA (larger d-coefficients and spectral range than KTP) there has been some confusion about the precise nlo coefficients.

Nonlinear optical properties of Bacteriorhodopsin by nonlinear ellipsometry
Proceedings of the 4th International Symposium on Applied Sciences in Biomedical and Communication Technologies, 2011Chiral molecules are inherently noncentrosymmetric, they posses an electric dipole allowed second order and higher even order optical nonlinearities. We show that multipolar contributions to the nonlinear polarization can be detected by using a method based on polarization chart of the second harmonic signal generated in a noncollinear configuration ...
