Nonlinear Optical Properties of Polyaniline
MRS Proceedings, 1987ABSTRACTPolyaniline is a family of polymers whose electronic and optical properties can be controlled through variation of the number of electrons and protons on the polymer chain. For example, the emeraldine base form of the polymer (EB) is insulating while the emeraldine salt form (ES) is metallic.

NONLINEAR OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF Ag3SbS3
Applied Physics Letters, 1970The nonlinear optical properties of Ag3SbS3 (pyrargyrite) as determined by second harmonic generation (SHG) with the 10.6μ CO2 laser are presented. Phase-matched nonlinear mixing is possible and the material is suitable as a phase-matched standard in the infrared for optical nonlinearities.

Nonlinear optical properties of urea
Optics Communications, 1979Abstract We report measurements on the second and third order nonlinear hyperpolarizabilities of the urea molecule using the techniques of dc field induced second-harmonic generation and four-wave mixing. Single crystals of urea have been grown and found to have high optical damage thresholds from the near ir to the uv region of the spectrum.

Theory of the nonlinear optical properties of semiconductors
Journal of Luminescence, 1984The optical spectra of laser-excited semiconductors change with varying laser intensity. Close to exciton or biexciton resonances these optical nonlinearities are, e.g., large enough to obtain optical bistability. The cause for these large nonlinearities are many-body effects in the system of the electron-hole pair excitation. The use of nonequilibrium

Nonlinear optical properties of bacteriorhodopsin
SPIE Proceedings, 1993In this paper we show the applicability of Hyper-Rayleigh scattering to obtain hyperpolarizabilities of ionic and biochemical compounds. It was found that dark-adapted bacteriorhodopsin and its isolated chromophore have considerable second order nonlinear optical properties.

Nonlinear Optical Properties of Diarylethenes
Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. Section A. Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 2000Products μβ of the first order hyperpolarisabilities β of both isomers of dithienyl ethene derivatives by their ground state dipole moments μ have been determined experimentally by the EFISHG technique, then calculated by a semi-empirical method. Both calculations and measurements put into evidence a large increase in μβ in going from the open isomer ...

Nonlinear optical properties of benzofurobenzofurans
Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, 1997AbstractThe geometric structure, dipole moment, μ, linear polarizability, α and first hyperpolarizability, β, of symmetrically substituted amino‐and cyanobenzofurobenzofurans and dihydrobenzofurobenzofurans have been calculated by ab initio coupled perturbed Hartree‐Fock methods.

Nonlinear Optical Properties of Semiconducting Polymers.
1990Abstract : This program focused on the nonlinear optical properties of semiconducting conjugated polymers. Specific emphasis was on fast time (picosecond regime) measurements of the photoconductivity of semiconducting polymers and on nonlinear optics (NLO) measurements related to the mechanism and origin of the nonlinearity and on attempts to optimize ...
