A Nonparametric Search for Information Effects from USDA Reports

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, 2015
Two nonparametric tests are employed to investigate the potential information value of USDA crop and livestock reports. If daily returns on days that reports are released (announcement days) differ when compared to non-announcement days for a sizeable ...

Conscious and Correct Use of Biostatistical Methods in Medical Researches: From Planning to Reporting the Results - Part II

open access: yesDüzce Tıp Fakültesi Dergisi
In this part of the review, statistical tests utilized to examine hypotheses regarding population parameters on a representative sample, which forms the fundamentals of inferential statistics are discussed.

“Optimum” Nonparametric Tests [PDF]

open access: yes, 1951
The problem of “optimum” tests has two aspects: (1) the choice of a definition of “optimum,” and (2) the mathematical problem of constructing the test. The second problem may be difficult, but at least it is definite once an “optimum” test has been defined. But the definition itself involves a considerable amount of arbitrariness.

Tests for Independence in Nonparametric Regression [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2006
Consider the nonparametric regression model Y = m(X)+e, where the function m is smooth, but unknown. We construct tests for the independence of e and X, based on n independent copies of (X; Y ).The testing procedures are based on differences of neighboring Y 's.We establish asymptotic results for the proposed tests statistics, investigate their finite ...

So Similar and Yet So Different: Reasons for Online Purchasing, a Comparative Research in Colombia and Mexico Using Nonparametric Association Tests

open access: yesMultidisciplinary Journal for Education, Social and Technological Sciences, 2019
The reasons for buying online have occupied the literature of consumer behavior on the Internet for quite some time. Different theories seek to understand the relationships between different variables of purchasing behavior using this channel.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Rank tests [PDF]

open access: yesEkonomski Signali, 2017
Rank tests are the most important methods of nonparametric statistics. In the introductory part, there are discussions of parametric and nonparametric metods and as a result of those discussions it is established that the rank tests are one of the most ...

Nonparametric Tests for Conditional Symmetry in Dynamic Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This article proposes omnibus tests for conditional symmetry around a parametric function in a dynamic context. Conditional moments may not exist or may depend on the explanatory variables.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Parametric and Nonparametric Tests for Speckled Imagery

open access: yes, 2011
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) has a pivotal role as a remote imaging method. Obtained by means of coherent illumination, SAR images are contaminated with speckle noise.
