Crop Yield Skewness and the Normal Distribution
Empirical studies point to negative crop yield skewness, but the literature provides few clear insights as to why. This paper formalizes three points on the matter. Statistical laws on aggregates do not imply a normal distribution.

Force distributions in 3D granular assemblies: Effects of packing order and inter-particle friction
We present a systematic investigation of the distribution of normal forces at the boundaries of static packings of spheres. A new method for the efficient construction of large hexagonal-close-packed crystals is introduced and used to study the effect of

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

This paper investigates an approach for multiple attribute decision making (MADM) problems with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IVIFNs). To do that, the nonlinear score, accuracy and hesitation functions of IVIFNs are developed based on the

Supercurrent-induced temperature gradient across a nonequilibrium SNS Josephson junction
Using tunneling spectroscopy, we have measured the local electron energy distribution function in the normal part of a superconductor-normal metal-superconductor (SNS) Josephson junction containing an extra lead to a normal reservoir.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Application of Normal Distribution to Estimate the Quality of Regional Geochemical Survey Samples
The quality of regional geochemical survey samples is currently estimated indirectly by internal and external laboratory quality control. The method described here effectively improves the quality of geochemical samples.

Elephant Random Walk with a Random Step Size and Gradually Increasing Memory and Delays
The ERW model was introduced twenty years ago to study memory effects in a one-dimensional discrete-time random walk with a complete memory of its past throughout a parameter p between zero and one.
