Water-Resistant, Scalable, and Inexpensive Chiral Metal–Organic Framework Featuring Global Negative Electrostatic Potentials for Efficient Acetylene Separation

open access: yesChem & Bio Engineering
Physical separation of acetylene (C2H2) from carbon dioxide (CO2) or ethylene (C2H4) on metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) is crucial for achieving high-purity feed gases with minimal energy penalty. However, such processes are exceptionally challenging due

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Improving TiB2 dispersion in Al-Si composites by interfacial projection: High-throughput first-principles calculations and experimental verification

open access: yesMaterials & Design
The dispersion of reinforced particles is crucial in improving the mechanical properties of ceramic particles reinforced Al matrix composites. In this work, a novel interfacial projection strategy was proposed to improve the dispersion of TiB2 particles ...

Normal stroma suppresses cancer cell proliferation via mechanosensitive regulation of JMJD1a-mediated transcription

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
The tumour stroma has altered stiffness and matrix architecture compared to normal tissue, which favours proliferation, and invasion. Here, the authors find that the extracellular matrix produced by normal fibroblasts inhibits cancer cell proliferation ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Quantum state preparation of normal distributions using matrix product states

open access: yesnpj Quantum Information
State preparation is a necessary component of many quantum algorithms. In this work, we combine a method for efficiently representing smooth differentiable probability distributions using matrix product states with recently discovered techniques for ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.
