Anisotropic shock sensitivity for β-octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine energetic material under compressive-shear loading from ReaxFF-ℓg reactive dynamics simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We report here the predictions on anisotropy of shock sensitivity and of chemical process initiation in single crystal β-octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine (β-HMX) using compressive shear reactive dynamics (CS-RD) model with ReaxFF-ℓg ...

Circular 86 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Reindeer in western Alaska have been described as a free-ranging, semi-domesticated animal. Herd management is minimal and animals are less tractable when compared to domestic livestock.

Normalizing the CPT for Overburden Stress

open access: yesJournal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 2006
Effective overburden stress can have a significant influence on cone penetration test (CPT) measurements. This influence can lead to an incorrect assessment of soil strength/resistance for such purposes as liquefaction triggering analysis. For an accurate measurement of tip and sleeve resistance, unbiased by overburden stress, it is essential to ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Effects of Paecilomyces lilacinus and Bacillus pumilus on stem nematode and rhizosphere bacterial communities of sweet potato

open access: yesScientific Reports
Stem nematode (Ditylenchus destructor Thorne) is considered one of the most economically devastating species affecting sweet potato production. Biocontrol offers a sustainable strategy for nematode control.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Functional Characterization of Pomegranate CAMTA3 in Cold Stress Responses

open access: yesPlants
Cold stress is a significant factor limiting plant growth and development. Pomegranate is particularly susceptible to low temperatures. Calmodulin-binding transcriptional activators (CAMTAs) are key regulators of cold stress tolerance in plants.
