Disease resistance of transgenic rice by overexpressing OsiWRKY gene
To derermine its bioiogical function, we transformed OsiWRKY gene into rice. Southern blot and Northern blot analyses showed that the OsiWRKY gene had been integrated into rice genome and overexpressed in rice.

Identification of an Xiap-like pseudogene on mouse chromosome 7. [PDF]
The most thoroughly characterized mammalian IAP is XIAP/BIRC4, which can inhibit caspases 9, 3 and 7, but may also regulate apoptosis through interactions with other proteins such as Smac/DIABLO, HtrA2/Omi, XAF1, TAK1, cIAP1, and cIAP2.High throughput ...

Mir-34a-5p Mediates Cross-Talk between M2 Muscarinic Receptors and Notch-1/EGFR Pathways in U87MG Glioblastoma Cells: Implication in Cell Proliferation [PDF]
Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive human brain tumor. The high growth potential and decreased susceptibility to apoptosis of the glioma cells is mainly dependent on genetic amplifications or mutations of oncogenic or pro-apoptotic genes ...

ABSTRACT Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) is an immune‐mediated neuropathy featuring progressive weakness, sensory deficits, and areflexia. While corticosteroids, intravenous immunoglobulin, and plasmapheresis are effective first‐line immunotherapies, a subset of patients remains treatment‐refractory.

cDNA Cloning and mRNA Expression of Estrogen Receptor α in Japanese Quail
The biological actions of estrogen are mediated via estrogen receptors (ER). Although chicken ER cDNA for subtypes α and β have been identified, only the β form of ER cDNA was cloned in quail.

Transcriptome changes and cAMP oscillations in an archaeal cell cycle [PDF]
Background The cell cycle of all organisms includes mass increase by a factor of two, replication of the genetic material, segregation of the genome to different parts of the cell, and cell division into two daughter cells.

Variably Protease‐Sensitive Prionopathy: Two New Cases With Motor Neuron‐Dementia Syndrome
ABSTRACT We describe two patients with variably protease‐sensitive prionopathy (VPSPr) who developed progressive upper motor neuron symptoms, insomnia, behavioral and cognitive decline, compatible with primary lateral sclerosis associated with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
