Determination of Stress Intensity Factors under Shock Loading Using a Diffraction-Based Technique

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
An experimental optical method has been developed for the measurement of opening and sliding notch face movements. The light passing through a thin slit is monitored by a photodiode detector.

Influence of brazing thermal cycling on microstructure and mechanical properties of GH4169 alloy

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng
To delve into the impacts of multiple brazing thermal cycles at varying peak temperatures on the microstructure and properties of GH4169 alloy, this study conducted a comprehensive examination of how brazing thermal cycle processes influence the ...

Uif, a large transmembrane protein with EGF-like repeats, can antagonize Notch signaling in Drosophila. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
BACKGROUND:Notch signaling is a highly conserved pathway in multi-cellular organisms ranging from flies to humans. It controls a variety of developmental processes by stimulating the expression of its target genes in a highly specific manner both ...

Pulmonary Doppler Notch Pattern in Relation with Pulmonary Vascular Resistance Index in Patients with Atrial Septal Defect

open access: yesMajalah Kardiologi Indonesia, 2021
Background: Atrial septal defect (ASD) potentially causes pulmonary hypertension (PH) and increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR). In previous studies, pulmonary Doppler notch was evident in patients with high PVR.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Role of Metastable Austenite on Crack Resistance of Quenching and Partitioning Sheet Steels

open access: yesMetals, 2023
The controversial phase, metastable austenite, is deliberately retained in advanced quenching and partitioning (Q&P) sheet steels. Superficially, the plasticity of Q&P steels is enhanced through the transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) effect to a ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

NOTCH activation promotes glycosyltransferase expression in human myeloid leukemia cells

open access: yesHematology Reports, 2018
NOTCH signaling diversely regulates the growth of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells. It is known that glycosylation of NOTCH receptors modulates NOTCH activation. However, little is known about glycosylation of NOTCH in AML cells.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
