Synthesis, SAR, and Docking Studies Disclose 2‐Arylfuran‐1,4‐naphthoquinones as In Vitro Antiplasmodial Hits

A total of 28 lapachol‐related naphthoquinones with four different scaffolds were synthesized and spectroscopically characterized. In vitro antiplasmodial activity was assayed against the chloroquine‐resistant Plasmodium falciparum W2 strain by the parasite lactate dehydrogenase (pLDH) method.

The aim of this study was to evaluate crude extracts and fractions from leaves and stems of Lippia thymoides and to validate their use in folk medicine. The genus Ocotea (Lauraceae) is distributed mainly in tropical and subtropical regions. Some species of this genus as O. puberula and O. quixos have been described in the literature, showing antibacterial activity. And Ocotea macrophylla showed anti‐inflammatory activity with inhibition of COX‐1, COX‐2, and LOX‐5.
