Curcumin pretreatment and post-treatment both improve the antioxidative ability of neurons with oxygen-glucose deprivation

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research, 2015
Recent studies have shown that induced expression of endogenous antioxidative enzymes thr-ough activation of the antioxidant response element/nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) pathway may be a neuroprotective strategy. In this study, rat

Ladder‐Type Benzene‐Perylene Dyes with Efficient Laser Properties in the Near‐IR by Detracting/Activating Low/High Frequency Vibronic Modes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The NNR‐n series of oligomeric nanographenes delivers exceptional emission performance. This work shows that this performance is originated by their ladder‐type structure, which effectively deactivates low‐frequency vibronic modes. This deactivation neglects the main pathway for non‐emissive deactivation, even in the near‐infrared region. The potential

Dark matter and LHC phenomenology of a scale-invariant scotogenic model Supported in part by The National Key Research and Development Program of China (2017YFA0402200), the Grants (NSFC-11575089, NSFC-11025525) and the CAS Center for Excellence in Particle Physics (CCEPP)

open access: yesChinese Physics, 2019
We study the phenomenology of a model that addresses the neutrino mass, dark matter, and generation of the electroweak scale in a single framework. Electroweak symmetry breaking is realized via the Coleman-Weinberg mechanism in a classically scale invariant theory, while the neutrino mass is generated radiatively through interactions with dark matter ...

Connexin: a potential novel target for protecting the central nervous system?

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research, 2015
Connexin subunits are proteins that form gap junction channels, and play an important role in communication between adjacent cells. This review article discusses the function of connexins/hemichannels/gap junctions under physiological conditions, and ...

Ultraviolet–Visible Spin‐Resolved Chip‐Scale Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By harnessing phase, wavelength, and spin multiplexing, the proposed meta‐spectrometer enables spin‐resolved spectral analysis within a compact footprint. The presented dual‐band (320–450 nm) spin‐resolved meta‐spectrometer features enhance optical functionality, allowing for the simultaneous discrimination of spectral content and spin states of light ...

Compensatory recombination phenomena of neurological functions in central dysphagia patients

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research, 2015
We speculate that cortical reactions evoked by swallowing activity may be abnormal in patients with central infarction with dysphagia. The present study aimed to detect functional imaging features of cerebral cortex in central dysphagia patients by using

Rapid Diagnostics of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces Using Space‐Time‐Coding Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fast reconfigurable‐intelligent‐surface (RIS) diagnostics method is proposed based on spatio‐temporal modulation with orthogonal codes. Theoretical analysis demonstrates a clear distinction in code channel power between normal and faulty elements. Simulations validate its feasibility under high fault ratios and varying receiving angles.

Acupuncture inhibits Notch1 and Hes1 protein expression in the basal ganglia of rats with cerebral hemorrhage

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research, 2015
Notch pathway activation maintains neural stem cells in a proliferating state and increases nerve repair capacity. To date, studies have rarely focused on changes or damage to signal transduction pathways during cerebral hemorrhage. Here, we examined the

Ternary Synergy in Layered Double Hydroxides for Efficient and Stable Nitrate Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ternary CuZnFe LDH enables efficient electrocatalytic nitrate‐to‐ammonia conversion via controlled in situ reconstruction: zinc leaching creates porous active sites, copper reduced to metallic copper, while iron oxide keeps stable. Synergistic Cu‐Fe redox coupling drives tandem catalysis (nitrate→nitrite→NH3), achieving 95% Faraday efficiency and ...
