DNA binding activity of NtrC from Rhizobium grown on different nitrogen sources

open access: yes, 1994
The DNA-binding activity of the NtrC protein can be demonstrated in gel retardation assays with concentrated protein extracts of Rhizobium etli. Using extracts from either the wild type or a ntrC mutant strain and an antiserum raised against the NtrC ...

Alveolar Bone Regeneration: Smart Biomaterials and Physical Stimulation

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, Volume 114, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Large‐area bone loss from disease, trauma, or congenital defects requires surgical procedures and bone grafting. Alveolar bone loss from severe periodontal disease and non‐unions often demands immediate grafting. Treating large alveolar bone defects using grafts and substitutes is challenging due to the complex oral environment, infection ...

Quiescin Sulfhydryl Oxidase‐Like 1 Positively Regulates Seed Dormancy in Rice

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 2, Page 489-503, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Seed dormancy is an adaptive strategy that enables plants to survive adverse environmental conditions. In agricultural contexts, an optimal level of dormancy is essential: Insufficient dormancy can result in preharvest sprouting, while excessive dormancy may lead to uneven germination and poor stand establishment in subsequent crops.

Experimental Confirmation of an NtrC Transition Pathway Predicted by Targeted MD [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2009
The infinitely short lifetime of transition states makes characterization extremely difficult. We have used a combination of molecular dynamics and experimental approaches to determine two important rate-limiting interactions involved in the allosteric transition of a signaling protein.

Comparison of Predatory Phenotypes and Genotypes Between Bdellovibrio sp. BIS2 and Bacteriovorax sp. HI3 Isolated From the Same Freshwater Environment

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 28, Issue 1, January 2026.
Bdellovibrio and like organisms (BALOs) have gained attraction owing to their ecological and practical significance. This study comparatively investigated two BALO strains from the same freshwater pond, Bdellovibrio sp. BIS2 and Bacteriovorax sp. HI3, and revealed significant variation in their predatory behaviours and associated genetic profiles ...

Sigma factor N, liaison to an ntrC and rpoS dependent regulatory pathway controlling acid resistance and the LEE in enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) is dependent on acid resistance for gastric passage and low oral infectious dose, and the locus of enterocyte effacement (LEE) for intestinal colonization.

Promoting the humidity sensing capabilities of titania nanorods/rGO nanocomposite via de-bundling and maximizing porosity and surface area through lyophilization

open access: yesMicro and Nano Engineering, 2022
Herein, the preparation of titania nanorods with reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite is introduced using a combination of the simple hydrothermal process and co-precipitation followed by freeze-drying.

Fabrication of a High‐Performance In Situ Synthesized N‐Doped Graphene Aerogel Decorated with Copper Oxide Nanocomposites for Supercapacitor Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2025.
High‐surface‐area graphene aerogel‐based electrodes are developed using a hydrothermal method for supercapacitor applications. The composite shows a high specific capacitance of 333.3 F g−1 at a current density of 0.2 A g−1, with energy and power densities of 33.3 and 0.59 kW kg−1, respectively.
