Next-generation sequencing of prostate cancer: genomic and pathway alterations, potential actionability patterns, and relative rate of use of clinical-grade testing. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Despite being one of the most common cancers, treatment options for prostate cancer are limited. Novel approaches for advanced disease are needed. We evaluated the relative rate of use of clinical-grade next generation sequencing (NGS) in prostate cancer,

Comparative Analysis of a Dual DNA–RNA Panel and a DNA‐Only Panel for Sarcoma: Real‐World Data From a Nationwide Genomic Database

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 1, Page 156-168, January 2026.
Dual DNA–RNA panel with matched tumor–normal testing may improve diagnostic accuracy and inform treatment decisions in the routine clinical management of sarcoma. ABSTRACT Next‐generation sequencing‐based comprehensive cancer genomic profiling is promising in cancer management; however, most studies rely on tumor‐only DNA panels from single ...

Induction of resistance to neurotrophic tropomyosin‐receptor kinase inhibitors by HMGCS2 via a mevalonate pathway

open access: yesCancer Medicine
Introduction A neurotrophic tropomyosin receptor kinase (NTRK)‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) has shown dramatic efficacy against malignant tumors harboring an NTRK fusion gene.

RNA hybrid-capture next-generation sequencing has high sensitivity in identifying known and less characterized oncogenic and likely oncogenic NTRK fusions in a real-world standard-of-care setting

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics
IntroductionNTRK1, NTRK2, and NTRK3 gene fusions are rare oncogenic driver alterations found in diverse tumor types of adults and children. They are clinically important biomarkers as tumors harboring these genomic alterations have high response rates to

A systematic review and meta-analysis of neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase gene fusion frequencies in solid tumors

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Medical Oncology, 2020
Introduction: The research objective was to systematically review evidence on neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase ( NTRK ) gene fusion frequency in solid tumors. Methods: Using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA)

Realizing Equitable Precision Oncology via Remote Participation: Japan's First Fully Decentralized Trial (WJOG15221M)

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 1, Page 272-274, January 2026.
WJOG15221M is Japan's first fully remote, investigator‐initiated oncology trial, successfully enrolling 28 patients—36% remotely—by integrating trial access into the national CGP program and leveraging existing healthcare infrastructure without new digital tools.

Prevalence, treatment response, and survival in a real-world NTRK gene fusion-positive microsatellite instability-high metastatic colorectal cancer cohort

open access: yesESMO Real World Data and Digital Oncology
Background: Tropomyosin receptor kinase (TRK) inhibitors are approved for patients with neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) fusion-positive solid tumors, but clinical benefit in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) is uncertain.

The Occurrence of Gene Fusions in Thyroid Lesions and the Relation With Chronic Lymphocytic Thyroiditis

open access: yesPathology International, Volume 76, Issue 1, January 2026.
We identified both known and novel gene fusions in thyroid neoplasia, including several previously reported only in nonthyroid malignancies. Gene fusion–positive tumors were significantly (p < 0.001, annotated as ***) associated with florid chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, unlike tumors driven by somatic mutations or copy number variations.

J/Psi production as a function of charged particle multiplicity in pp collisions at sqrt{s}=7 TeV with the ALICE experiment

open access: yes, 2011
We report on the first measurement of J/Psi production as a function of charged particle pseudo-rapidity density dN_ch/d_eta in pp collisions at sqrt{s} = 7 TeV with the ALICE experiment at the LHC.
