Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Cross-section Calculations of 175Lu(n,p)175Yb reaction for production of medically important radioisotope 175Yb [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Ytterbium-175 (175Yb) is considered suitable for the preparation of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals due to its decay characteristics (T1/2 = 4.18 d).

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Nuclear astrophysics in the laboratory and in the universe

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2014
Nuclear processes drive stellar evolution and so nuclear physics, stellar models and observations together allow us to describe the inner workings of stars and their life stories.

Validation of Geant4 nuclear reaction models for hadrontherapy and preliminary results with SMF and BLOB [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Reliable nuclear fragmentation models are of utmost importance in hadrontherapy, where Monte Carlo (MC) simulations are used to compute the input parameters of the treatment planning software, to validate the deposited dose calculation, to evaluate the ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Short-range correlations in dynamical intranuclear cascade models for describing nucleon knockout reactions

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
Spallation and fragmentation reactions at incident energies above the Fermi momentum are considered to be the main mechanism for the production of neutron-rich nuclei at worldwide nuclear physics facilities, such as RIBF, FRIB, and GSI-FAIR.

Neutron capture cross section measurements of 238U, 241Am and 243Am at n_TOF [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Proposal: Neutron capture cross section measurements of 238U, 241Am and 243Am at n_TOFThe increase of the world energy demand and the need of low carbon energy sources have triggered the renaissance and/or enhancement of nuclear energy in many countries.
