Calculations of nucleic acid conformations

Current Opinion in Structural Biology, 1996
The present computational power and sophistication of theoretical approaches to nucleic acid structural investigation are sufficient for the realization of static and dynamic models that correlate accurately with current crystallographic, NMR and solution-probing structural data, and consequently are able to provide valuable insights and predictions ...

Conformations of double-helical nucleic acids

Nature, 1976
A KNOWLEDGE of possible conformational states of double-helical nucleic acids is fundamental to an understanding of how they work1,2. Models for a series of conformations have been made on the basis of X-ray data3–5. Investigations of nucleic acids in solution point to the existence of a continuum of forms but do not make possible the quantitative ...

The conformations of locked nucleic acids (LNA)

Journal of Molecular Recognition, 2000
We have used 2D NMR spectroscopy to study the sugar conformations of oligonucleotides containing a conformationally restricted nucleotide (LNA) with a 2'-O, 4'-C-methylene bridge. We have investigated a modified 9-mer single stranded oligonucleotide as well as three 9- and 10-mer modified oligonucleotides hybridized to unmodified DNA.
