Characterization of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus with a deletion of bm118

Virus Research, 2008
Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) ORF118 (bm118) is homologous to Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV) ORF142, one of the core genes existing in all baculovirus genomes sequenced to date, suggesting that Bm118 plays a critical role in viral infection.

Genome sequence of Leucania seperata nucleopolyhedrovirus

Virus Genes, 2007
The nucleotide sequence of the Leucania seperata (Ls) Nucleopolyhedrovirus (LsNPV) genome has been determined and analyzed. The circular dsDNA genome contains 168041 bp, making it the largest NPV sequenced to date. The genome has a G + C content of 48.6% and encodes 169 predicted open reading frames (ORFs), one unique repeat region, and eight ...

Sequence and Organization of the Mamestra configurata Nucleopolyhedrovirus Genome

open access: yesVirology, 2002
The nucleotide sequence of the genome of the nucleopolyhedrovirus (NPV) from Mamestra configurata (MacoNPV, isolate 90/2), a group II NPV, was determined and analyzed. The MacoNPV DNA genome consists of 155,060 bp and has an overall G+C content of 41.7%.

Characterization of the Bm61 of the Bombyx mori Nucleopolyhedrovirus

Current Microbiology, 2009
orf61 (bm61) of Bombyx mori Nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) is a highly conserved baculovirus gene, suggesting that it performs an important role in the virus life cycle whose function is unknown. In this study, we describe the characterization of bm61.

Morphology and genome of Euproctis pseudoconspersa nucleopolyhedrovirus

Virus Genes, 2009
Euproctis pseudoconspersa NPV (EupsNPV) is pathogenic to the tea tussock (E. pseudoconspersa), one of the major pests of tea bushes in East Asia, and has been used to control the pest. Electron microscope observation showed there were two modes for the virions embedded in each polyhedron, single-nucleocapsid and double-nucleocapsid.

Vertical Transmission of Nucleopolyhedrovirus in Insects

Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1999
A review of the literature on transmission studies of nucleopolyhedroviruses showed that low levels of viral infection were common among studies of pupae of insects but rarer in adults. Virus could be transmitted from parent to progeny and could be found in caterpillars reared from surface-decontaminated eggs.

Inhibition of heat shock protein 90 suppresses Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus replication in B. mori

Insect molecular biology (Print), 2019
Heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) plays a very important role in facilitating the replication of many viruses. Until now, little has been known about the role of Hsp90 in Bombyx mori virus infection. In this study, we explored the role of BmHsp90 in B.

The microRNA pathway is involved in Spodoptera frugiperda (Sf9) cells antiviral immune defense against Autographa californica multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus infection.

Insect Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2019
The microRNA (miRNA) pathway is an epigenetic mechanism that plays important roles in various biological processes including host-virus interactions by regulating gene expression of the host and/or the virus.

BmAtg13 promotes the replication and proliferation of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus.

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 2019
Autophagy is a cell adaptive response that involves the process of microbial infections. Our previous study has indicated that Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) infection triggers the complete autophagic process in BmN-SWU1 cells, which is ...

Expression and localization of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus GP37

Virus Genes, 2023
Mitochondria play an essential role in intracellular energy metabolism. This study described the involvement of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) GP37 (BmGP37) in host mitochondria. Herein, the proteins associated with host mitochondria isolated from BmNPV-infected or mock-infected cells by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis were compared.
