Characterization of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus with a deletion of bm118
Virus Research, 2008Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) ORF118 (bm118) is homologous to Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV) ORF142, one of the core genes existing in all baculovirus genomes sequenced to date, suggesting that Bm118 plays a critical role in viral infection.

Encyclopedia of Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus genes
Virologica Sinica, 2009The Autographa californica multiple capsid nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV) was the first baculovirus for which the complete nucleotide sequence became known. Since then 15 years lapsed and much research has been performed to elucidate putative functions of the annotated open reading frames of this virus and this endeavour is still ongoing.

Genome sequence of Leucania seperata nucleopolyhedrovirus
Virus Genes, 2007The nucleotide sequence of the Leucania seperata (Ls) Nucleopolyhedrovirus (LsNPV) genome has been determined and analyzed. The circular dsDNA genome contains 168041 bp, making it the largest NPV sequenced to date. The genome has a G + C content of 48.6% and encodes 169 predicted open reading frames (ORFs), one unique repeat region, and eight ...

Characterization of the Bm61 of the Bombyx mori Nucleopolyhedrovirus
Current Microbiology, 2009orf61 (bm61) of Bombyx mori Nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) is a highly conserved baculovirus gene, suggesting that it performs an important role in the virus life cycle whose function is unknown. In this study, we describe the characterization of bm61.

Morphology and genome of Euproctis pseudoconspersa nucleopolyhedrovirus
Virus Genes, 2009Euproctis pseudoconspersa NPV (EupsNPV) is pathogenic to the tea tussock (E. pseudoconspersa), one of the major pests of tea bushes in East Asia, and has been used to control the pest. Electron microscope observation showed there were two modes for the virions embedded in each polyhedron, single-nucleocapsid and double-nucleocapsid.

Sequence and Organization of the Mamestra configurata Nucleopolyhedrovirus Genome
The nucleotide sequence of the genome of the nucleopolyhedrovirus (NPV) from Mamestra configurata (MacoNPV, isolate 90/2), a group II NPV, was determined and analyzed. The MacoNPV DNA genome consists of 155,060 bp and has an overall G+C content of 41.7%.

Vertical Transmission of Nucleopolyhedrovirus in Insects
Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1999A review of the literature on transmission studies of nucleopolyhedroviruses showed that low levels of viral infection were common among studies of pupae of insects but rarer in adults. Virus could be transmitted from parent to progeny and could be found in caterpillars reared from surface-decontaminated eggs.

Expression and localization of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus GP37
Virus Genes, 2023Mitochondria play an essential role in intracellular energy metabolism. This study described the involvement of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) GP37 (BmGP37) in host mitochondria. Herein, the proteins associated with host mitochondria isolated from BmNPV-infected or mock-infected cells by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis were compared.

The piRNA pathway is required for nucleopolyhedrovirus replication in Lepidoptera
Insect Science, 2023AbstractThe Piwi‐interacting RNA (piRNA) pathway has been shown to be involved in the antiviral defense against RNA viruses, especially in mosquitoes, but its universality has been questioned. Here, we used the Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) ‐infected silkworm as a model to explore the effects of the key factors of piRNA pathway, BmAgo3 and ...

A nucleopolyhedrovirus from Uranotaenia sapphirina (Diptera: Culicidae)
Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 2004In this report we present data on biology, gross pathology, ultrastructure, and host range studies of a naturally occurring nucleopolyhedrovirus from the mosquito Uranotaenia sapphirina (UrsaNPV). Development of this virus was restricted to nuclei of epithelial cells in posterior midgut and distal gastric caecum.
