What's in a name: the multifaceted function of DNA‐ and RNA‐binding proteins in T cell responses
In this state‐of‐the‐art review, we describe how DNA‐ and RNA‐binding proteins (DRBPs) may bind both DNA and RNA and discuss the putative functional relevance of this dual binding. Furthermore, we perform an exploratory analysis into protein domains that are associated with DRBPs.

This study examines how Notch signaling conditions the genome landscape within activated CD8+ T cells in such a way to alter the binding pattern of transcription factors such as Gata3. This Notch dependent conditioning directs Gata3 binding to CD8+ T cell lineage specific gene loci enabling generation of effective T cell responses.
